Only a good coach like Jay would admit his mistake....."thought they could handle it."
Last night I saw this in the faces of all the guys on every mound visit.

Not one the losses would result in a 3 game series loss either. He also talked about the “Skip approach” and having pitchers he already can count on. I believe he said he has 4 pencilled in? Only need 6 as Skip would say

Jay’s being a good coach and covering for the player’s lack of performance. That’s it really. And Jay is a good coach for sure. But the performances and are indicative of poor or bad direction coaching and we are allowed to question that at millions of dollars per year he’s being paid. Is it possible after 2 Natty’s he’s letting down a touch and needs a new fire? Possibly. He’s human. Regardless, some of his calls thus far are mind boggling.

I agree with everything you said, except I’d like to add one thing. Sometimes coaching can be on point, and boys don’t execute. Leadership, including coaches, has to create some accountability, and the boys have to respond. That could be happening behind closed doors, but it won’t be put out there for us to witness.

It could also be that Jay wished he had an extra practice day in here to really walk some guys who are new to the team through some things. Having games has cut into those hands on practice hours that some of these guys may need to make some adjustments.

There are lessons every year. Facing this adversity this early can allow the team to be very successful later in the season if they use these losses and lessons productively.

What are we doing that everyone else isnt? 13 of 16 teams have played 13 or 14 games so far. Miss st just played Arizona st, Virginia Tech, Ucla, Southern Miss.. What are we bitchin about?

This, they are just way in their heads and came down to Earth a bit. There are a lot of guys that need to be re evaluated with playing time

Stop acting like every loss in baseball can be explained. Good and bad streaks are part of the game. Questioning if Jay has lost his fire is Rant poison.

A couple of things

1) Some of y'all think these guys just show up for games. Jay is a 24/7 baseball guy and the players are doing a hell of a lot more regarding baseball than just the games. I would bet even more total baseball time than the minor leaguers

2) They didn't come here for school but it is still more on their plate than minor leaguers. I would bet Jay at least tracks their class attendance/progress

If Jay knows they are mentally/physically drained, then I trust that he is right. There is a reason absolutely everyone fell apart with every aspect of the game. Jay probably knew it last week, but nothing to do about it at that point.

No a few days off and at the beach won't solve everything, but hopefully they can recharge and refocus.

But the aggressive schedule early on was so unnecessary.

It’s the same number of games as most of the top 25 teams.

Most top 25 teams (16) have played one or more games against other top 25 teams.

LSU has had an easy schedule. Unnecessarily easy.

I’m burned out watching them play, it’s hard to watch bad baseball and the last 5 games has been bad baseball.

You have no idea how LSU practices though, which could be impacting their game. Clearly Jay thinks all the games in a short window is a problem. So maybe it's a combination of other things like practice?

Sounds crazy but that may be LSUs problem. You put them in that tourney with UCLA, Mississippi State, Tennessee, A&M and whoever else was in it last weekend and I bet you LSU doesn’t look that lousy like they did against Dartmouth and Northeastern.

"Jealous Little Brother" burned their asses up last night.

JLB from a fricking State of Louisiana Junior College.

They got bent over and vandalized dry from JLB.

Don't want to see any "That's Baseball" BS either.

LSU should never, under any circumstances, lose a baseball game to one of these chicken shite little State of Louisiana Junior Colleges! (USLJC at the top of the list)

I'm calling them the "Bend Over Boys" for the remainder of the season. (Regardless of how many SEC games we go on to win, or the results of any Regional, Super Regional or CWS)

Good Luck for the duration BOB's. (I don't apologize to anybody for being a hardliner because I want LSU to WIN either)

Spoken like someone who has absolutely zero clue what they’re talking about

Honest question, do you think they just show up, throw on some cleats, and hit the field for 3-4 hours??
