It certainly is different captain obvious.

But the same principle applies. It's not like stalking an ex like I always read on here.

It's about doing what's best for your program.

I'm sorry but the Wade ops are finished. It's over. You look like a complete retard still bringing it up. It's too late to rehire Will Wade. You all can stop making threads about it. Last year it was fine. The year before that it was fine. But now it's time to let it go.

I can tell you for a fact there was a major booster from LSU and a big booster from McNeese along with one other LSU affiliate with WW and his family in N.C. for new years. Rousse wants him here.

Why is basketball getting 15% of the revenue share, and muh baseball is fighting for scraps with gymnastics and underwater polo at LSU if "baskets are way down the list???" It looks like it's clearly second on the list to me.

There are new sherrifs in town home boy. And they seem to be CORRECTLY intent on restoring our basketball program to where it needs to be.

The other four 0-2 SEC teams-- Ole Miss, Kentucky, Auburn and Texas-- won their games today. LSU is sitting there in the cellar at 0-3 --- like an EGG! an EGG!

Now tell us which of these other teams has their All SEC caliber player out with an injury along with an experienced and skilled insie player lost with a season ending injury,

Hey, wimp. It’s the head coach’s job to work around injuries. Every team deals with injuries. Year 4 and we’re wanting some wins.

Don't speak logic to these morons....they dont have any sense.

Don't you know, WW would sweep the conference with 5 frat stars playing. He's the best ever....except he isn't.

I can't stress this enough. It doesn't have to be Will Wade.

We know WW is a top 30 coach, some on here might think he's lower some might think he's higher. But the good news is there's OTHER GOOD COACHES. If he wants to come back let's do it but if not LET'S JUST HIRE A GOOD COACH.

13 sec schools have hired a decent to great coach in the last few years. LSU owes us a good hire no matter if it's Wade or not.

Bill Parcells: "you are what your record says you are", PERIOD!!!!!!

I'm an Eagles fan. I'm 100% serious when I say that I believe the Eagles would've won Sunday had Lane Johnson (the best right tackle.in the NFL) played against the 49ers.

Guess what? That means nothing. You play the games with who you have and adjust or don't adjust. Also, the 49ers were DECIMATED with injuries and still found a way to win.

Top 3 dumbest arguments made in this thread -

1) LSU should just let basketball suck and give all the money to football and baseball. Too stupid to argue.

2) Will Wade sucks. The results speaks for themselves. He wins everywhere he goes and is still a young coach. If you were going to handicap who will have the most NCAA tournament wins over the next 15 years, Will Wade is firmly in the top 5-10.

3) Will Wade would never come back to LSU. Maybe true but maybe not true. NC State as this basketball factory is a bit of a myth. Yes, they are passionate about basketball. No, they are no where near UNC and Duke in their own backyard. For starters, the new LSU head coach will likely receive double Will Wade's current salary.

He is 10th in career winning % among all active HCs (with at least 10 years of HC experience). Some of the guys ahead of him are names like Few, Self, Izzo, Pitino, Calipari, Sampson.

He had a .673 winning % at LSU. The highest career winning % at LSU since the 1920s.

But for the 2020 tournament being cancelled, he would have led LSU to 4 straight NCAA Tournaments. The last time LSU did that before Wade...1990 - 1993

In his 5 seasons at LSU he had 56 SEC wins. That was third behind only Rick Barnes (61) and John Calipari (62) during that period. And neither Cal nor Barnes had to rebuild the worst team in the SEC in year 1 of that period.

Yep, looking at that, I can't understand why any LSU fan would want to hire him back Which further illustrates the hate for Wade by some LSU fans isn't actually based in any degree of logic or fact. It's SOLELY based on having a contrarian position. Some illogical hope, for the sake of hoping, that they will be right and the crowd will be wrong because take the name of the resume and the same people saying Wade "sucks" would be the same people demanding LSU hire a HC with that resume.

That's because every year in early January the board sees an influx of "fans" who haven't paid attention to basketball in 10-11 months and have little to no understanding of the sport and marketplace as a whole. Yet, that doesn't dissuade them from stating their uneducated (in terms of college basketball, not in general) opinions as "fact".

Wade is never coming back to LSU, it’s weird that some of you can’t move on

You're right he is never coming back! That doesn't change the fact that if we're gonna be honest the admin should've stood behind him because whatever the NCAA was gonna do would've been over by now, the records probably would've been about the same as they've been with McNugget & you would've had the fans completely on board, bought in,with energy in the PMAC supporting our coach with a whole us against the world vibe! But it is over and will never be! But can we atleast get McNugget out of here and get someone that shows the fan base growth, coaching, excitement!

I would also add in the fact people keep saying and acting like NC State is such a better job than LSU

Outside of the fact they don't have baseball fan morons shitting on the basketball team 24/7 the programs are very similar.

29 tourny appearances to 24

4 final 4's vs 3 final 4's.

They have been largely irrelevant since the 80's outside of the 2024 final 4 run

Add in recruiting hotbed LSU is in and the fact Wade is young enough to be here for the new planned arena, it wouldn't surprise me if he comes back

Which was a total fluke. Going into the ACC Tournament they were NOT going to make the NCAA Tournament and their HC was going to be fired. They then got hot at just the right time and made the run. All it did was prolong the inevitable because the next season they finished 16th in the ACC and fired their coach.

Since 2000 their average finish in the ACC has been 8th. Not nationally...in their own conference. They get assigned as a "great basketball school" by LSU fans who know little about basketball for three reasons: (1) being a member of the ACC; (2) being in the same state/conference as Duke and North Carolina; (3) a miraculous dunk in 1983.
