fans have gotten us 8 NC's. That's obviously not the problem

Nah his seat needs to get hot.

Anything less than 100 - 0 in a non con game is unacceptable.

7 days ago this was the best hitting team we’ve ever had…so many double producers who couldn’t find ABs.

I’m going to suggest that we will be fine. But it’s going to take a large part of the season to get to our best.

true but ive learned that we say this every year except really in 23 and the hitting will find a way. Its a long haul. Make the tourney and just enjoy the ride.

they made a good point on the radio broadcast after the game.

Opening weekend is exciting, and that can lead to better hitting. Then they go to Jacksonville play some decent competition, and we hit the ball pretty well that weekend. Then you go home to play McNeese, Dartmouth, and Northeastern. It goes from the excitement of the early season to the ho-hum non-conference games. Games you should run through, but sometimes the team shows up flat. I suspect Jay will correct this.

Plus, baseball is a spot of being hot and cold, sometimes you play well sometimes you struggle. The fact that we have two wins struggling in our last 3 games isn't horrible, and I would say fairly good. As they say, it's about peaking at the right time. So far, Jay has been good about making that happen.

So true! We give up runs, but win, the pitching needs to improve. We score 3 and win, the batting needs to improve. We are not going to shut out and run rule every opponent. I wish the idiots would learn this.

Fans can hurt or help the team. I find our fanbase helps us a lot, but it ultimately comes down to the coaching and the players. Thanks to Skip building the powerhouse of college baseball, and Jay Johnson bringing it back, we have won 8 national titles.

If Skip Bertman never came to LSU do you think LSU would have 8 national championships?

A 300 average means you fail more than twice as often as you succeed

Sometimes you are going to go 6 for 12 and sometimes 1 for 11. That works out to 7 for 23 which is .304.

What is awesome is when the whole lineup is going 6 for 12 but that means it’s going to suck when the whole team goes 1 for 11.

This happens every year. A few weeks into the season the bats cool off for a little bit. They'll come back.

The concerning part—slight as it might be—isn’t that we only scored 3 runs, it’s that we only scored 3 runs against pretty average RH pitching that gave us like 7 free passes.
