That’s quite the take considering he hired Jay Johnson & we’ve won 2 natties since then. Trust me, LSU baseball is not struggling
No one said they were struggling. But I can tell you for a fact that Jay was not happy with the way revenue sharing was set up. Baseball shouldn't be lumped in with all the sports besides football/MBB/WBB

On the bright side, football starts next year.

LSU baseball as a totality has far more than any other school to go towards NIL

I would if you were correct. You’re not. Coach Johnson was NOT happy with the revenue sharing. And, he was not Woodard’s first pick for that matter.
The baseball number started at $250K. That phone call from our favorite AD came while the team was in Omaha. It didn’t sound like the call went very well. When they returned with the trophy, the number went to about $400K.
To be clear, LSU ranks 13th in the SEC in baseball revenue sharing. And that’s the $400K number. Let that sink in for a moment.
LSU Baseball does NOT have the NIL money necessary to compete with the top 5 SEC schools when compared to their revenue sharing.

Jay should he given a blank check. As others have said, until we have a proven coach in place, any money spent on MBB is wasted.

Coach J got the private donors

Should take the WBB and give to baseball
At this point, Lady Tigers basketball generates more revenue than the men' do. Look at that crowd against Texas. Heck the game against Alcorn State drew more fans than the men seem to for conference games. Take it from the teams that aren't producing wins.

Well we must be doing something right. Check to see who won the last game of the year in 2023 and 2025.

LSU NIL dedicated to baseball far surpasses what the rest of the SEC spends on baseball.

Minor college sport gets the minor piece of pie

If Jay Johnson needs money, Jay Johnson need only raise his hand from the back of the classroom.
He could raise half a mil passing an offering plate at a weekend SEC series. you’d have people walking out to their campers to grab the title out of the glove box to put into the till and taking an uber home.

No, our new administration is funding the programs correctly. If anything, it should be football 75, men's basketball 24, and all the other bullshite can fight over the scraps.
You coon asses don't understand that the only 2 sports that bring any recognition to a university are football and men's basketball.
If you ever leave the south and go on vacation or a business trip, ask some people you meet (and are talking sports with), who won the college baseball title last year. WITHOUT wearing any LSU clothing or dropping hints.
Don't be shocked when less than 5% can answer correctly. Go ahead and try the same with football and men's basketball, then compare results.

Baseball has several private donors that make up the difference but I do agree with your point. Excellence should be rewarded.
Absolutely, don't be lazy folks - look beneath the surface.
I like CMM the man the person, but in this day and age sorry, we need a coach that can do the same for men's basketball. And he is not that and doesn't seem to really want to be that.... and by that I mean a person that promotes and fund raises for his program and secure those types of private donors for his sport. That doesn't happen by accident.
Every sport and every department at LSU should strive for excellence - this idea of having to weaken one to strengthen the other is ignorant and defeatist.

You sir are an idiot. College baseball aside for like 8 schools, no one cares about as evidence by the tv deals and rev share. College basketball is way more profitable than baseball. So if you want more revenue to be shared, then you have to put the money in the sports that generate the most revenue. Even at LSU the pinnacle of college baseball, they are barely profitable and in some years are revenue negative.
Each win in March madness is worth $2million to the conference. So the more teams, and wins the more revenue that’s shared.

LSU Athletics has implemented a new revenue-sharing model following the House v. NCAA settlement, allowing the university to distribute up to $20.5 million in athletics revenue directly to student-athletes starting July 1, 2025. The funds are allocated based on a formula tied to historical revenue generation, with 75% ($13.5 million) going to football, 15% ($2.7 million) to men’s basketball, 5% ($900,000) to women’s basketball, and 5% ($900,000) distributed across LSU’s other 18 sports.
Ole Miss is giving 7.5% just to baseball. Verge has to fix this. Take money away from MBB to pay baseball
I'm still waiting for you to link to where those numbers come from.
