How did you expect him to answer?
“LSU is just a much better job and I’ve beaten them with less talent two out of the last three years so I should be able to do better there”.

Weird he doesn't have a better answer for why he'd go to LSU.

Yes, thought the same thing. He said he didn’t know. I’m hoping he just didn’t really want to say, because if he truly doesn’t know, then that’s a problem. We’ll see later in mother interviews.

Money/ resources, brand and in state talent is why. We all know. Classy of him to handle it the way he did.

Pete Carroll - “your dad would tell you to go.” Pete did somethings for us

I said this maybe a day or so ago on here, but Coach O said Pete told him that he always wanted to coach at LSU because he said Tiger Stadium was his favorite place following football growing up (and Tommy Casanova was one of his favorite players). I didn't even know LSU was on his radar growing up.

He knew he would not win a natty at Ole Miss, but he will at LSU.

Let's hope that he doesn't get buyer's remorse in the morning and backs out. Like he said this is one of those times when you have to make a decision quick and move on without spending four months planning. I'll feel better after the press conference tomorrow.

Wish kiffin would have told him that LSU gives him the better chance at winning a title

That’s what Brian Kelly said when he got hired, and he later got roasted about it by Notre Dame fans and others when he failed to sniff an NC.

Man I think Lane was sneaking out the side gate, Marty spotted him and flew over there off road like a bat out of hell after standing out there like an idiot for a day and a half.

He came across sounding far more humble than I expected.

I get exactly why he answered the way he did. The truth is that being at LSU gives you a chance to recruit better recruits.
So if you are a current Ole Miss player that would make you feel like sloppy seconds. He's trying to not diss his players at Ole Miss. I get that and have no problem with that. The people that are important understand that.

He gave a mature answer. Rule #1 when changing jobs is don’t burn your bridges.

Lane has grown.

Hell he even brought up Tennessee and how he didn’t want things to be left that way again.

Guy is a pro and that interview goes a long way to embarrassing all the click bait media whores that were trying to slander him and burn this opportunity for him.

Going to be a fun ride baws

Marty threw him a few questions and left the opportunity to talk bad about Ole Miss and the greater opportunity to win championships here and he did not bite. I respect that.
BK was quick to say that he has a better opportunity to win than he did at Notre Dame.

I think Marty Smith had already been embedded with Ole Miss the whole week for something already arranged before the hoopla began. I expect more coming from ESPN, they probably have blockbuster footage.

This! I haven't seen Kiffin do many interviews or pressers and honestly thought a younger "up and comer" would be better but I'm absolutely pumped about him after seeing this.

You can tell his brain has a lot of fog right now. A lot of mixed emotions and I completely understand that.

He reminded me of Saban when he landed in Tuscaloosa back in '07 and Saban looked all haggard at the tarmac and press conference.
