All off season all we heard was “he finally had the money he needed to win” now we’re back to “he doesn’t have any money”. It’s BS the guy is contradicting his own arguments.

SMU beat a really great UNC team today.

The route in the SEC is the same this year, steal a few on the road, protect your home court...and let the chips fall where they may.

Yesterday was the road game to “steal.”

McM has a 4-24* SEC road record.

*Updated with yesterday’s loss.

This is why worrying about firing him mid-season is dumb. He needs a good enough season to make the tournament, or he is gone. 14-41 so far is a big reason why.hy.

There’s talent on this roster. I’d like to see David Patrick get a shot if we go into another tailspin.

This was an opportunity to win a road game, but it was never a slam dunk. It was a Q1 road game, which will always be a test, even more so when your PG, who is also your best player, is not available.le.

Regardless, this game was there to be won. We can agree on that. LSU was in a good position to win this game and didn’t get it done. At some point McMahon has to win these type of games to turn this around.

And who is LSU going to get? Honestly, ask that question. Its a program that's never set the world on fire. The in state HS talent is crap, and there isn't anyone out there who will be knocking on the door. They are who they are. Its a baseball and football school, period. Who cares about womens BB, gymnastics, or whatever. That ain't paying the bills.

I just can’t see McMahon making it through the entire season. This was a winnable game, maybe the only legit shot at a win on the road and still couldn’t get it done.

Yeah, I don't think that's happening, I think this team will likely be on the bubble for much if not all the season.....he'd not getting canned mid-season unless he starts 0-8 in SEC or some such and that ain't happening.

The Aggies are a middling SEC team that likely won't make the tournament, but we did not have our best player so there's that.

I was very disappointed in how we handled their backcourt pressure. We kept throwing the ball right where they wanted us to making for easy trap opportunities, it was maddening.

I will say the refs allowed a lot of contact, but they did it on both sides and for a change we stepped up our defensive physicality and took advantage on that end of the court, something I've rarely seen a CMM team do so I was glad to see it.

No good can come of firing a coach mid-season…

Worked out for football. Fired BK mid season, got ahead of the coaching carousel and got the best candidate on the market

David Patrick? This is the funniest shiiite I’ve heard in years. Dude couldn’t even get his uber talented god son to play with effort.

LSU’s record the year we had Ben Simmons is better than any season McMahon has put together since he’s been here.

Vanderbilt hired James Madison's HC.
Florida hired San Francisco's HC
Alabama hired Buffalo's HC
Texas Tech hired North Texas's HC
Louisville hired the College of Charleston's HC
Iowa St. hired UNLV's HC.
Michigan hired Florida Atlantic's HC

This isn't football where fans think you MUST hire a "big name" coach. Many of the successful major conf. HCs are hired from the mid-major ranks. LSU has the resources to hire a mid-major HC and there is ZERO reason LSU couldn't have a tremendous basketball program just like other "non-basketball" schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, etc. This whole mantra that LSU is just a "football and baseball school" is stupid. LSU was NEVER a "baseball" school until it hired Skip Bertman. The right coach makes you a great program.

As for McMahon, I don't think he gets fired mid-season. (1) It really doesn't accomplish much and (2) I don't think there is enough interest from supporters to demand a mid-season firing.

Saturday was tough loss. Not because A&M is a bad team, but because it was one of the (on paper) "winnable" road games. LSU is going to have to win at least a few games on the road if they want to go to the NCAAT. But the season is not over yet. It's just that the margin for error starts to get thinner with every loss. I still think LSU needs 8 SEC wins overall to be in the conversation. Looking at the schedule that means the probably need to get at least 4 wins in January. The path to those 4 wins, while not easy, is there.

Now, if they lose tomorrow night that path becomes much, much, more difficult.

Unlike the past 4 years, McMahon’s bosses actually attend the games. Both Rouse and Verge are at every home game. I don’t think they will have the same attitude Tate and Woodward had.

Oh, I think there will be a coaching change at the end of the season. I just don't think it will be a midseason change. Kelly wasn't going to be a midseason change...until he got pissed about the demands made to make staff changes and it devolved into a situation where LSU was mad enough to fire him.

Firing McMahon in February is not going to suddenly increase ticket sales to any large degree. And for as poor as his record has been, by all indications he's not a jerk like Kelly that would create enough animosity to lead to a midseason firing

This is really the main and biggest reason.
