I'm pretty sure it has to do with the temperature.

Valentine's day - day game is genius though. Now you can watch the game and then take the mrs. to dinner

We got lucky on the weather report for this weekend. About 7 days ago it was in the low 30’s at dusk. That’s not baseball weather. Anybody who got ever jammed by an inside fastball on a February night can vouch for that.

In the 30’s that’s a good take. Even if it’s not.

Opening day should be a school holiday

I am fine with game 1 being at 2 pm. I will take off...my bosses know me. I will not however, take off for random Monday or Wednesday midday games. Why not schedule one of those for Tuesday when people may be off work for Mardi Gras?

Never let school get in the way of your kids’ education.

On the whole, CBB would benefit from waiting until at least the first of March to begin the season.

I'd rather a 72° day game than a 58° night game in February, the same I'd rather a 86° night game than a 96° day game in June. I've left the box frozen plenty of times, even in March

We've given thousands of dollars and lots of PTO in the past for Omaha runs but I draw the line at taking my kid out of school for it.

Lol why

It’s one day of work and school

Me and Sun God Jr will be there and he’s absolutely pumped

The baseball schedule was finalized months ago, not last week.

True, but baseball game times are moved on short notice all the time. Probably going to move Saturday to a DH on Sunday. Now that you know the temps opening weekend are going to be mild, why not move one to the evening?

And when that happens the bitching and griping is non-stop.

Plus, LSU gymnastics has a home gym meet at 7:45 PM Friday.

Men's basketball has a Saturday start time of 5 PM at Tennessee.

Women's basketball has a nationally televised home game on ABC at 7:30 PM Saturday against #3 South Carolina.

And baseball isn't going to move their Sunday afternoon game to a Sunday night.

The Monday baseball game at 3 PM would not draw any more fans if that game was an evening game on Lundi Gras (Monday) night.

Maybe, maybe not. But more people would be able to watch it.
