As the premier baseball program in the nation, we should be able to roll out any pitcher on our staff mid week and win. Just blows my mind how these pitchers get here and can't throw strikes. I think too much emphasis is on velocity these days instead of location.

Take it easy, man. Bethune-Cookman is a good baseball team.

Maybe they are, but that has nothing to do with our collective inability to throw strikes.

Or not commit 4 errors a game.

Johnson said this game would help their RPI believe it or not IF the won. He spoke to it last night on his radio show.
They are a good team. They have ex P4 players from programs like Wake Forest for example.

If we lose this game, I'm wondering if we will have the RPI to even make the tournament.

We better end up with a good SEC record.

It isn’t about velo. It is always about commanding 3-4 pitches. You do that and he pitch for a long time. That kid Saturday commanded the shite out of his pitches and made hitters look foolish.
What separates Anderson wasn’t his 92-94 mph fastball. It was locating that breaking ball.
He also had a change he could locate and slider. He could pitch frontwards and backwards. He could thrown whatever pitch he wanted whenever he wanted to throw it

Why can't these guys just throw 95 (something Maddux did the first 10+ years of his career) have the best change up of all time, the best 2 seam (At the time) fastball of all time, the best control of all time, and an expanded zone??

It's so easy!

Moreover, why don't our hitters just take the Barry Bonds approach and get on base 60% of the time?? It's SO simple.

Unfortunately the regular season ends on April 7 this year, so we won't be able to improve it at all.

Bethune-Cookman is a SWAC-HBCU "Marching Band" school.

It would be an abomination to lose to them in Baseball!

You nailed it. Read Leo Mazzone's book. Command first, velocity second.

LSU is the one elite baseball program that is exceptional at consistently finding numerous pitchers with the command of a 8 year old. Every year we can expect at least 6-8 of our pitchers throwing it everywhere except across the plate most games.

This should never be a problem at a baseball program like LSU.

Might be too soon for this statement. But rizy isn’t that bad. Not that he doesn’t deserve some shite talking because he has been wild, but you can see the talent. It’s clearly there. He’s exactly the kind of guy that can shut down teams in the postseason like shores did last year in Omaha. He and Williams need to get it dialed in, and if Moore comes back, we aren’t in too bad of shape
