He’s a clown. And Texas shouldn’t feel good about the situation either.

Dream scenario all the way around.
I would love portal options from Texas, aTm, Florida, Kentucky and ECU.

Honestly, the boosters should be pissed.
They got played by their AD to give an above market contract to his buddy. Del Conte manipulated them by selling them on getting one over on "little brother" and used that to up the amount he's giving to his friend.
You know how hard it is for an AD to get fired over a baseball hire? Del Conte may have found a way to.

nope, not the next day. It was less than 24 hours after A&M landed back in College Station, so it should read "Get your coach stolen the same day."`

"I think it's pretty selfish of you to ask me that question, to be honest with you," Schlossnagle said. "But I left my family to be the coach at Texas A&M. I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again. And that hasn't changed in my mind. That's unfair to talk about something like that. That would be like you asking (Braden) Montgomery if he's going to sign in the draft. But I understand you've got to ask the question. But I gave up a big part of my life to come take this job. And I poured every ounce of my soul into this job and I gave this job every ounce I could possibly give it. Write that."
Wow. It seems people are dogpiling on Schloss for what he said in the postgame presser. Let me explain why I think there’s nothing writing with what Schloss said in the above quoted.
The first sentence - “I think it’s selfish…” That’s his opinion, and it’s justified. His team just got beat by one run in a deciding World Series game. Literally no coach would be happy as a lark after such an outcome, especially when he has to sit at a press conference and deal with being asked a personal question about other jobs. He was clearly agitated. It’s a selfish question, because it was a question about himself, not about his team.
The next two sentences, “I took the job at Texas A&M to never take another job again. And that hasn't changed in my mind.”
True statements. When he took the job at A&M, he took it with the idea that he would never take another job again. Even if he takes another job, or five more jobs, the rest of his career, that does not change the trueness of his original sentiment that he took the A&M job with the idea that he would never take another job. Even though another team offered him twice as much money three years later, his original sentiment that led him to take the A&M job has not changed, which is exactly what he said. What is he supposed to do? Go back in time to when he got hired by A&M in 2021 and change his sentiment? Come on people. None of us can change how we felt on a specific day three years ago. That’s common sense.
Next sentences, “That's unfair to talk about something like that. That would be like you asking (Braden) Montgomery if he's going to sign in the draft. But I understand you've got to ask the question.”
Appropriate analogy. The point of a post game press conference is supposed to be to field questions about your team’s performance and its win or loss, i.e. the game itself, not to field personal questions about jobs or future plans. But he understands that media likes to ask such things.
Last sentences, “But I gave up a big part of my life to come take this job. And I poured every ounce of my soul into this job and I gave this job every ounce I could possibly give it. Write that.”
All true. He moved away from his family. He poured his soul into the job and gave the job all he could possibly give it. Notice he spoke in the past tense. Instead of saying “I have poured my soul into this job and have given this job all that I have,” which would be the present tense, indicating he was staying at A&M, he spoke in the past tense, which indicated he was leaving A&M. This is not at all similar to when Saban said, “I will not be the Alabama head coach.” That was a lie. What Schloss said here was the truth, but stated indirectly, i.e. cleverly disguised.
I don’t understand the uproar.

Got to hurt future Texas recruiting with slime ball liar as head coach. You can bet Texas scratched off list by high school players had interest.
