You def do Not have two the caliber of the two we had last year at top of rotation . That’s not debatable at this point. Are they deeper, it would appear that way. Just have to throw 3-4 guys every game. Can win it all that way.
Cooper Moore definitely looks like can be a high-end SEC starter. We saw Eyanson grow into being one of the top pitchers in college baseball when he definitely didn’t start the season that way. Let’s just see how he and Evans grow into the roles.

quote:we have plenty of recent history to prove they are able to get the staff to step up and peak when needed most. In both 23 and 25 we got unexpected performances to clinch national titles in Omaha. We’re certainly expected to make the CWS this year and if a handful of guys step up like we’re used to seeing then no reason to believe we wont get #9
I understand what you are saying, but context matters. Do we have any past history to go off of that will reasonably tell us that we can trust Yeskie and Jay Johnson with pitchers? Do they have a history of developing and making pitchers better?

shite Hold That Tiger 10 said the pitching wasn't as good as advertised last year. Man did that blow up in his face. Some of these posters don't have a fukin clue.
Here is your accusing me of saying that the pitching staff is as good as advertised (which in fact i did say), but then when that turned out to be true you started constantly repeating that I said the pitching staff WASN'T as good as advertised.

If you listen to Hold That Tiger 10 its good as advertised. But our # 2 and 3 guys struggled this week against the worst team in the SEC

And since you refuse to shut the frick up, here is more of what YOU said about the pitching staff. Specifically about Eyanson.

I said in his first start he was not that impressive and i got blasted. Well what now people. he leaves alot of pitches in the wheel house.

Lol no no its not.
We have Anderson then a bunch of throwers

But but they all said this was best pitching staff ever

I said it the first game he pitched against Purdue he doesn't fool anybody.
And the people said well give him time, give him a few games, give him that give him this. Guess what i was right again

Are you suggesting we don't?

You said last year the pitching wasn't as good as advertised. That was a lie. You said last year Reaves would be the starting 3B by the time SEC play starts. That was false as well. Stop making stupid comments when you dont know what you are talking about.

I literally just showed YOU saying that. Are you this stupid on purpose, or is it something you can't help?

They wanted him moved to the bullpen after 3 starts

Stop making stupid predictions. You just aren't there yet and there is nothing wrong with that. Keep bashing people because that's all you know how to do.

quote:we didn’t have a dominant Ace this time last year….. Moore has had two solid starts in a row, Evans was much improved from opening weekend even the inning he got in trouble were weak hits. Bullpen has been great so far.
We don't have a dominant Ace which is the most concerning to me.

I don’t disagree with anything you said, but other teams are doing the same. Pitching a bunch of guys at the beginning of the year isn’t specific to Jay or LSU.

Oh don’t get me wrong, I’m done “doubting” Jay and Yeskie. They’ve proven that they are great coaches. It’s just vague statements like “The pitching will come around, trust the coaches.” with no further analysis doesn’t really do anything for me. There’s no real way to measure what “coming around” entails.

2 years of similar results isn’t measurable? shut up idiot
Posted on 2/21/26 at 7:03 pm to milkman45
I mean if you are going to use that logic, do you expect every single year that Jay and Yeskie are here to have similar results as last year and 2023? I think some of y’all forget how hard it is to make it to Omaha, much less win it all.
But to answer your question, no “coming around” isn’t really a measurable stat.
