All good stuff. But you gotta have a Friday night guy. We may have a Friday night guy, but I don't think we have figured out who it is yet.

There’s no Skenes or Anderson on this team (there won’t be a Skenes ever again)

and maybe not an Eyanson

Great feeling. I remember not that long ago it felt like once we got to the bottom 2-3 in the order it was just hoping they got walked or an error or something to roll over the lineup. This team will be fun to watch for sure

They look good but we’re 7 games in. It’s baseball. Ebbs and flows, hot streaks and slumps are a part of it. Just need to set ourselves up for the best chance to host a regional and use this time to see who he can trust in what spots. Talent wise it’s an embarrassment of riches because of Jays hard work and our uni’s dedication to the program. Just enjoy the ride and meltdowns too when they come

This team is absolutely loaded offensively. I agree with your assessment.

Perhaps you’re right and Evans and Moore emerge as those guys did and Schmidt is a reliable Sunday guy.

You mean the guy who led the team in batting average in SEC play last year?
I think we have some people on this board who are straight up racists.
There’s really no other explanation.

True test is always in conference play. Facing good to elite pitching week in and week out, getting the best from everyone as the defending champs, and the eventual slumps that ensue. Tennessee is a goner this year, but I'll bet Arky, Texas, TAM, and OM all give us some trouble somewhere along the line (either regular season or down the line). Pitching is fine at this point of the year, it'll probably get better. Batting seems elite, but we haven't faced any elite pitchers yet.
Buckle up, its baseball.

Sadly, we don't play Arky this year unless we meet in post season.

Yeah, yeah yeah, it’s early and the competition is inferior
The main thing is they are doing exactly what they should be doing against lesser competition.
The approach to the plate, very few Ks where they just whiffed at 3 pitches, a lot of 2 strike hits where they passed over bad strikes and went deep in the count, or they are hitting their pitch early in the count.

I don’t know how this can be repeated over and over and some people still don’t understand it. It’s the same people in every thread talking about last year’s aces and our lack of them this year.

Anderson’s first 2 starts last year:
2.67 ERA, .99 WHIP
Eyanson’s first 2 starts:
.818 ERA, .82 WHIP
Evan’s first 2 starts this year:
6.67 ERA, 1.60 WHIP
Moore’s first 2 starts:
3.21 ERA, 1.16 WHIP
Different competition obviously, but Anderson and Eyanson were better. LSU will not have a top 5 pick pitcher this year. Just need to overcome it with offense.

Jay has done a great job putting together this team. It’s early, but they are very good. Once again, the SEC is very tough.

Talent and coaching will never be a problem with Jay Johnson's teams.

Very lucky, we get to see great college baseball.

We are just getting started into a long season.

The guy’s comments don’t make him racist. CS lacks power to hit HR’s and his swing looks really bad at times. And some of his K’s look awful. That said, we can’t utilize his best asset (speed) if he doesn’t get on base. He does that well.
