The standard at LSU is winning champions not just being good enough to sneak into the playoffs. Who cares about being in the playoffs if your just a sacrificial lamb like Tulane.

BK was a terrible hire.
I was so glad to see him go, but when you really think about it, it honestly could have been much worse. BK eventually became checked out, but he did immediately rebuild out roster and turn us back into a successful, winning program. He did it faster than almost anyone thought he would with beating Bama and winning the West in his first season too. Problem was I think it gave him a false sense of security coaching in the SEC.
He did continue to have winning seasons at least and won all three of his bowl games, but the work ethic was clearly not there and he didn't want to look in the mirror and be honest about his team's shortcomings at times. However, he was 34-14. Florida and Auburn's hires around that same time didn't even come close to sniffing the success Kelly had. So it could have been a lot worse if BK had been a total failure. He wasn't. He just wasn't good enough and especially sucked this year.

Tulane is the premier football program in the state these past few years.

Wow, I think you summed up in your last sentence. LSU has done something about it. They fired Brian Kelly midseason they’ve Hired Ln., Kiffin. What more do you want? You’re just on here just a fricking bitch and cry.

Tulane had the 75th rated strength of schedule.
LSU's was 9th hardest.
Tulane is the DEI team in the playoffs.

wasn't he like 5-10 against ranked opponents?

I just don't understand how a team looses by three tds to UTSA and makes the playoffs. What weird year. I really would like to see Vandy or Miami vs Ole Miss.

If they world actually pick the 12 best teams they wouldn't have made it but for the sake of diversity we've got to get these suck arse teams into the playoffs.

Tulane would never make the playoffs in one of the major conferences. Glad they are getting a chance to play bits let be honest, they are going to be embarrassed in the opening round if they are matched up against the wrong opponent

Why do we care about this... the llayoff was expanded to let teams like Tulane in... LSU won the CFP before Tulane so

Did they ever make the 4 team playoff?
Congrats to them on the participation trophy playoff era birth.

I think it was 5-11 with the most losses coming this year. Though I think 10 of the 11 losses overall were to top 10 teams and most of those were either in or closer to being top 5.
But 34-14 coaching in the SEC is 34-14 coaching in the SEC. An SEC schedule even in down years is more difficult than the other conferences with more teams that would be ranked if they weren't beating up each other in the SEC. I was very relieved to see BK go, but he did at least have winning seasons following two non-winning seasons before he took over. He didn't let the bottom drop out his whole time here. So I'll give him credit there. But when you're getting paid 10 million per year...

Everyone knows Tulane doesn’t have snowball’s chance in hell of winning the NC. That said, if Tulane was replaced with a P4 team similar to LSU the result would be the same, a loss except the score would be with in 1 or 2 TDs instead of 3, 4 or 5! These G5 teams in the playoffs are going to make the TCU team that got embarrassed by UGA look respectable!

I kind of like this. Sometimes a deep emotional hurt can be a great motivator.

Indiana, Tulane, Ole Miss, SMU, Arizona St., JMU , Boise St… all made the 12 team playoff before LSU.
Combined they have 1 national championship, and it was what, 63 years ago? LSU has 3 NCs since 2003. I’m good.

Stuff like this makes me loathe Brian Kelly more and more. What a lazy, useless waste of money he was.
