This would dissolve us of all of the sins of Scoot Woodward
It was the most cowardly act by Woodward and LSU athletic department to fire Wade between SEC tournament and before NCAA tournament starting shitting all over that team and the LSU fans. Woodward too cowardly to allow Wade to coach and run deep in the tournament thus making it harder to fire him due to increased popularity. Instead, Woodward sabotages that team and great 4-year tiger Darius Days and his he amazing Tari Eason. Woodward chose his own personal vandetta over LSU basketball fans and prematurely pulled plug bc he knew he couldn’t fire Wade after the tournament if that team runs deep at all.

it's my understanding LSU paid Kiffin's full buyout. If I'm NC State and I'm aware of discussions with LSU (Wade's contract states he has to provide notice to NC State of such interest), I'm telling Wade to make a decision ASAP so we can fully jump into coach search/hiring mode without breaching the contract. Even if there is some sort of "handshake" agreement between LSU and Wade right now, that could be grounds for a breach of the NC State contract if Wade leaves and refuses to pay the full $5M buyout.
Agreed. But much like Kiffin, NC State cannot force him to make a decision. What are they going to do? Fire him? Then they would owe him a buyout. No doubt there are uncomfortable conversations going on behind the scenes. Now, NC State can put an extension on the table with a short fuse to accept, much like OM tried to do with Kiffin.

For all of you LOSERS that don't want Wade back and are screaming like little bitches that he ain't coming back,
What if we want Wade back but are tired of stupid, meaningless posts from people with no real sources?
quote:
check out op's post history.
He's been on the rant since 2010 and appears to be a lawyer. He only posts every couple of months or so.
And? There are thousands of lawyers out there who have 0 sources in the athletic department or LSU administration.

A poster FULL OF shite and looking for internet glory, would be constantly posting here with "its a done deal" and such. This poster doesn't do that. I believe him.
This poster has posted nothing in all that time that indicates any knowledge of the inner workings of the athletic department or contacts related to any of that.
You ladies who get your panties in a wad whenever anyone questions a post that aligns with your hope (either side of this basketball situation) should probably take a break from TD for a bit.

Agree. Of all the bad things Scott did, this was the most unforgivable. That team was special and fun to watch. With their coach and a little luck they may have made it to the final four.

Count me as a hell yes to hiring Wade back. He was a perfect fit here.

Yeah, that team had a really good defense, but I don't think it was a Final Four team (even though the 2 seed, Auburn, got knocked out early). Kansas was the #1 seed in the bracket...the same Kansas that eventually won the NC.
However, I ALWAYS thought the timing was shitty and vindictive. You can't pretend to care about student athletes, then pull the rug out from under them literally days before the biggest game of the season they had worked to reach for months. Tate and Woodward were no fans of Wade at that moment, but I don't think you do that to players that had nothing to do with the prior allegations. I do think there was also a bit of concern that should LSU have made a run to, at least, the second week, Woodward would have faced the same rage Alleva did when he suspended Wade just before the Vandy game in 2019. Hell, that rage was a BIG reason Woodward got the job in the first place.

Boy, the media will be really pounding on LSU.....they love producing the narrative that makes LSU look evil!
Kiffin, and maybe Wade.....that is years of content for the naysayers.

100%.
It was the most selfish and cowardly act imaginable to handle it the way he did trying to avoid a tougher situation or be unable to do what he wanted so instead he sabotaged that team and shat all over us. I loathe Scott Woodward.

Everybody who whined about LSU not caring about MBB are going to feel pretty silly when they find out all those personnel moves weren’t made for football but for basketball in particular.
Posted on 3/21/26 at 9:49 am to JR Hamilsbach
The way I remember it, LSU was in trouble with the NCAA in both basketball and football. It looked to me like Woodward was trying to get out of those situations and to show the NCAA a form of repentance and take some hits to avoid worse ones.
So they fired Wade, vacated 37 football wins and got 3 years probation in football, which had the worse violations over alleged mishandling of sexual assault and domestic violence, paying $ to the father of Vadal Alexander, the cash handouts from Odell Beckham, Jr., etc.
Both programs had 3 year probation periods, with basketball set to end in June of this year (2026).
To me, Woodward's biggest mistake was hiring Brian Kelly.

Listen Nancy, if you truly wanted Wade back nuggets from the op wouldn't offend you like they seem to.
I'm not claiming because he's probably a lawyer it makes his take more valuable than ours. However, it would seem he would be more LIKELY to have a source in the LSU administration.
And if you can't see the fact that he doesn't post here constantly makes it more likely he's not out for Rant Legend status by posting this info, you're nuts.
Also, anyone with any skill at deductive reasoning would understand that the silence on the situation coming from LSU's end is DEAFENING. Piecing this shite together only leads to the LOGICAL AND LIKELY conclusion that Wade is returning.
There is WAY too much smoke for the Wade return to not have legs.
There have been AT LEAST a dozen individual posters who have come on here claiming this is gonna happen with a verified source.
Are they full of prune juice???
Probably some, maybe even most M'lady.
NO WAY IN HELL that they all are.

It's true that LSU has been very quiet.
Would you think that what yes, it's b/c Wade is coming back, but maybe not until 2027?
That's what I'm thinking, but I have been wrong many times.

UNC had worse violations than we did going back 30+ years. Kansas was caught up in our situation every bit or more. They both told the NCAA to Fluck off.
We are a bigger brand than either (remember, football drives the bus).
If we had an AD with balls and not some she boy like Patton Oswalt's retarded little sister in charge, we'd have done the same and gotten a slap on the wrist. If only Bob Brodhead could have been in charge. Or the people we seem to have running it currently.

That isn't impossible, but IMO would be very risky. A lot can change by then. I think the smart move is to get him now.
Also, if we were waiting a year, there wouldn't be any reason to not announce a McMahon return for this year by now.

On this we agree. It is interesting, to say the least.

It does not. A case can be made for everything indicating a desire to move on from MM, perhaps with Wade, perhaps with someone still in the tournament. A case could also be that they are waiting for something, some big positive LSU news (like a final four appearance for WBB), to distract from a low-key announcement they are keeping McMahon.

Scott Woodward caused so much damage to lsu especially the basketball program. I never seen the program so lifeless.

Tell me you don’t understand how the IARP worked without telling you don’t know how the IARP worked. Firing Wade did absolutely nothing for football.
