Too young IMO. Not ready. Needs more development.

What is his backstory?

In 2009 he was a HS Sr. (Zachary HS), 6’5” 200 lbs., and threw a 90+ mph fast ball. Instead of signing his LOI to play at LSU, the 18-yr old decided to play professional baseball. Drafted by the Pirates in the 6th rd. and signed for $1.2M. After 6 yrs of minor league baseball, ZVR came home and asked CLM if he could walk-on at 25 yrs old. In 2020, he was the oldest player in CFB and older than 23 punters in the NFL.

Same type story as Jamie Howard and Josh Booty who also played MLB before coming back home to play @ LSU

He did a damn good job this year. Nothing but respect for this guy. Hope ZVR finds a good spot and can make good money for several years as an NFL punter.

L-I-V-I-N

Wooderson continues to live the dream. 5 years of smashing now off to the pros to give it another go. Well done, pops.

I could see that. He seems very level headed. Hopefully he comes back to BR when he’s done playing.

Can’t have much of that 1.2 million left at this point unless he was especially diligent

"I am foregoing my 6th year of eligibility..." Something just really cool about being able to say that.

I’m sure ZVR’s parents consulted a financial advisor to invest his money wisely. Since he was just 18 yrs old, there were likely stipulations on when he could withdraw his money. Figure 10 years of compound interest and he’s ahead of the game on an early retirement.

He gave us a good 18 years of service

Why do some players seem like they have been here for decades, not a bad thing thought.

Stand up tiger though, on and off the field.

Good luck in the league ZVR!!

He's probably stepping away to give the young stud we signed his chance. I bet he'd like to come back.
