If he would sign an Altuve-like deal, I could see him getting that extra year he would want. I just don’t think your agent is Boras if that’s your intentions

I don't think Bregman is even sure of his intentions. At least he was a classy guy yesterday and appeared for the press wearing his Astros gear. I think Bregman's heart would keep him in Houston. He loves the idea of staying with a single franchise. His wife is from Katy. I think he will be careful of the place he goes and while about the money, it will be a place he thinks will win.

If someone could convince Bregs to take a Brantley approach, he could be one of the best contact hitters in baseball. He has that eye and it would extend his value and career.

You win with pitching if you can score more than 3 runs in 2 games. Goddamn, I’m already tired of the Dana Brown offseason quotes

Oh ok. So we're going to pretend like "be aggressive early" wasn't a direct and publicly stated offensive approach from Espada and Cintron.

Tucker is softer than baby shite and has no balls.

The way I see it, the Payroll is bloated and can't really pull any game-changer FAs for another 2 years. Not that Crane will pay for a gamechanger FA anyway. So, if the Astros just attempt to plug holes, again, we will end up with a frustrating season and getting bounced in the first round, again.

It's time to move on.

Trade:
Framber
Tucker
Dubon
Caratini

Throw-ins on trades:
Myers
McCormick
LMJ
Bagwell
Anyone not named Altuve, Pena, Alvarez, or started on the mound this season or last.

Offer Bregman a qualifying offer. Let him walk. Take the shitty draft pick.

Listen to trades for Pena.

To make things really fun, Trade every fricking position player for nothing but prospects.

Sign:
C - Max Stassi
1B - Yuli Gurriel
2B - Tony Kemp
3B - JD Davis
SS - Aledymis Diaz
RF - Teoscar Hernandez
CF - Kike Hernandez
LF - Robbie Grossman
DH - JD Martinez

Go get Stubbs as a backup C too

I never tried to hide the fact that I disliked this team this year for a plethora of reasons. Saw maybe 40 pitches in Game 1 vs DET and none of Game 2

Maybe it was the management off the field, the management on the field, or the obvious focus on the individual over the team.

I have been much more interested in this offseason than years passed. The young arms that are controlled give me hope. Crane had the sense to originally hire Luhnow and let him be. Of course he's a business guy first and was a part of gobbling up MiLB, throwing the Ryans out to the curb

But I'm sure he's learning from these DEI forced moves and makes some changes that put this organization back on the right track. Unfortunately, it will have to lick its wounds first

It’s stacked, if and only if, they sign Kikuchi or someone of that caliber.

If they do that, they’re essentially swapping out JV for Garcia and would have a very solid rotation. But if DB is making that statement on the assumption they’ve got some embarrassment of riches thinking Javier, Urkel and LOLMJ are coming back for meaningful time next year, he’s delusional or lying.

Hopefully the moves by Springer and Correa will be a cautionary tale for Bregs. Springer and Carlito haven't won shite since they left Houston.

Well the market never materialized for Correa whether it's the ankle, an attitude/ entitlement or bad luck /timing
Ain't even with that the Twins can't be disappointed he's given them at least what he's getting

Springer and the injuries I mean that guy looks snake-bit

I just truly believe that Bregman, Scott Boris. Bregs family, and the market are going to value Bregman more than what the Astros are willing to pay
given their numbers/analysis..

Although I personally would love to have Bregman back I just don't see it happening however I give myself this out I don't know what the relationship is between Tucker and the front office

But his broken leg exposed something that doesn't hold the promising future it once did
And that was quick and happened at a point in this season that I don't think the front office has really had a chance to sit down and discuss it , not to a conclusion, PoA

Yeah I will say that I myself wanted to try to resign Springer because of all the intangibles and try to trade Correa to get something that for him

That didn't happen obviously neither one were in their long-term plans they had Altuve they had Bregman they had the pitching they had yord and Tucker
But they missed on every other outfielder option after Brantly and every other first-base replacement

And Bregman Tucker and Yord on all have injury concerns that should make you worry about their long term viability as an everyday player

And the pitching staff has got injuries so that's no longer the absolute it was

its a razor this margin, They could still easily win the West by 10 games next year
or be 500

I think the pitching depth is there as long as they don't botch the bullpen (keeping Pressly would be bad for the books and for the pen, for example).

They need to decide which prospects they are ready to ride-or-die with next season. It cannot be a "we'll see" scenario because that affects your ability to be aggressive to construct the lineup properly.

Another spot worth mentioning is SS

Pena is going to be average at best and while he hustles his arse off, he still has to SAC in the playoffs after K'ing 3 times

He is a 9 hole hitter in for defensive purposes, and even there he showed weakness this year.

This team is likely doomed to attempt to compete with 5 position players being serviceable at best, and that may be necessary to get things right until contractual obligations are eliminated

the family thing might be the only reason bregs stays

i know some people who know some people. I don't want to bug them directly like "hey dude, remember we used to smoke dope behind the bellaire home depot. what is bregman doing?"

that said, I'll likely have some sauces on this move

I get what you're saying and I don't disagree

But we live in a Instagram Facebook look at me with all the credibility and attention
I'm getting and people can convince themselves that they're doing it for the right reason the moment they get paid enough money for doing it

and there is far more money out there for the family and either the East Coast or a West Coast that can possibly be made here

He's a very likable dude he's got a very appealing personality a sense of humor
he speaks Spanish ..he's Jewish
Beautiful family

I mean we all get that he sees this contract as cashing in and deservedly so ,, good for him sincerely
it's not just what he gets for playing baseball that's not all the money there is

But every baseball team that is in contention on the West Coast and on the East Coast has reason to take a look at him and make him an offer
might move him to another position,,, even the Astros might consider moving him to 1b and signing a cheaper 3b,.. Im not suggesting it but they and every other MLB team will talk about it

But every team in Major League Baseball big market team Bregman has got to be in their considerations moving forward
