That's right.
He actually said the opposite of what OP is claiming. But look at all the upvotes. These clowns don't know how to think critically.
If they're not drunk, they might legitimately be disabled to even think Kiper would "lie" about something like that.

You explained it, Mel! Hes not special, not a big arm, not fast, isn’t big… so basically he’s avg AF, which is a 4/5th rd guy. If his name wasn’t sanders and espn pushing him down everyone’s throat for two years, no one would think twice about him going in 5th.
Switch him and Dart. Dart has similar stats vs much better competition and more wins vs top 25 teams. If he fell to 5th, anyone sky screaming about it?

So outside of lacking the key metrics of size, speed and arm strength, what is the kid missing? This is the stupidest comment I have heard from an analyst and shows he’s clearly being paid to just spout bullshite either by ESPN, Sanders or both.

At least you realize that if anyone is lying, it is actually OP. But no, there's a lot more that goes into being a QB than that. And you have to realize that Dart had several years in Kiffin's system, and much better protection and overall complementary pieces with Ole Miss. The circumstances for Shedeur were on the other end of the spectrum. Colorado's complementary pieces were mostly atrocious compared to the circumstances of other top QBs. Shedeur had one of the worst combinations of OL play and running game in FBS. (Some of that is on Deion. There's no way around it.) But he still put up exceptional numbers and was tough as nails through it all. That last point gets glossed over by people who love to hate the Sanders family, but it shouldn't be in a real evaluation of Shedeur. You'll find most QBs will fold, or be severely affected, by circumstances similar to that amount of hits and lack of good OL play.

Kiper has lost the plot. This is his quivering teardrop Herbstreit moment. It’ll define him for a ton of people going forward

Whole damn thread based off a lie that OP made up…

Are you saying he should have been drafted different from where he was?

he has an agenda (his personal politics) and is trying to virtue signal to line up his next gig and he has also more than likely been paid off to act like this.
there simply is no other explanation. no one in their right mind agrees with him. NO ONE.

Kiper has gone from respected journalist to fraud.
He’s approaching Olbermann levels
Actually sad to see

When was Kiper ever a respected journalist? He’s been a TV draft guy since day 1 and came out of Essex community college
It would be like calling Big Cat or Pat Macafee a respected journalist

Sheduer or however you spell that bs... it seems like he is slow or on the spectrum.

Kiper was terrible this week but I think you are misquoting him. He was saying what more could a GM ask of Shedeur other than that he doesn’t have the rocket arm and huge frame. He was saying that despite not being a perfect prototype like Josh Allen, he had plenty of talent to be an NFL starter.

What a strange world we live in when people are upset that a tv commentator is lying about a kids height and weight when the President tells multiple lies daily but people just believe him and write it off instead of fact checking him like they would Mel Kiper. People are more upset about Kiper than Trump. America is screwed....

If Shedeur plays really well and wins ROY, I believe it may lead to some posters to have a complete mental breakdown
Why can’t OP spell his name?

Why is Mel pretending he is some prototype QB?
The real question is, why do so many people buy the Kiper hype when he is statistically one of the worst draft prognosticators out there? I think he has something like a 20% hit rate or less.

Almost as strange as the guy using a Mel Kiper thread to crowbar in his crying about Trump

On tv saying he has a big frame at 6’3 230 pounds But he tested at the combine at 6’1 1/2 212 pounds. He’s literally 5 pounds heavier than Johnny Manziel (207 pounds at combine) Why is Mel pretending he is some prototype QB?
Someone posted a video, I think in response to this same comment in another thread. Kiper is saying he doesn’t have those measurables.
He has made a fool of himself, obviously, but IMO calling someone out for lying, when you misunderstand him, either makes you a fool or a liar yourself.
