From 2021-2024 the Falcons had 4 picks inside the top 10.

They drafted a TE, RB, WR, and QB, yet only 4 teams are averaging less points

Kirk looked completely washed yesterday. Terrible.

This is the biggest issue. I think he is already grooming one of his idiot sons to take over. Nothing will change.

Those first 3 are pointless without an OLine to protect the 4th one.

Pitts sucks. That's part of the problem. Another part of the problem is drafting a RB that high when your team sucks anyways. It's a waste of a pick. The Raiders are about to learn that lesson the hard way with Jeanty.

London is the only one of those four who was worth picking in that spot.

They’ll trade Bijan soon.

They should, but they won't. These dumbasses will never commit to the full rebuild they should have committed to going into 2021.

Is this really the case? I remember watching him in college and the ball exploded out of his hand.

That game Sunday is going to be football's version of the Jimmy vs Timmy cripple fight from South Park. It really is amazing how much Matt Ryan and Drew Brees propped up these two dogshit franchises for 15 years.

Blank isn't selling the team dude. Just stop. I get the frustration, but he isn't selling the team and neither the league or the fans can force him to do so outside of a sex scandal or Blank going on a racist rant.

The best thing you could hope for is that his son, Josh, takes control, and then cleans complete house starting with Rich McKay. If you don't get rid of McKay, the cancer will remain. Hire a true president of football ops, trade everyone, and start over as basically an expansion team.

Just saw the stat that in Penix’s 8 seasons of college and professional football, he’s had season ending injuries in 5 of those seasons.

Well, if you knock on a Penix too much, there are bound to be injuries.

And if you knock on Penix too much, you will soon be knocking on wood.

I don't see how the post-Ryan years were anything less than a full rebuild.

Bijan, London, and Penix were a promising trio, albeit hamstrung by a poor coaching staff.

As someone else pointed out, the Falcons invested heavily in a vet QB *and* a future starter, and now look to have neither. Cousins has been dogshit since midway last year.

The rebuild should have started after 2020 when it was pretty obvious that Matt Ryan was washed up, but they drafted Kyle Pitts hoping to recreate the 2016 offense magic one more time even though that was never going to happen. They traded Ryan a year too late. I'm amazed Indianapolis gave up a 3rd for him AND agreed to take on his entire contract.

They spent 2022 getting out of cap hell and actually looked like they were starting a rebuild, but every move they made after that suggested they thought they were only one piece away. You don't draft a RB at 8 overall when your team sucks. You do that when you are close and think the RB will put you over the top. You don't guarantee a 36 year old QB coming off a torn Achilles $100M if you're trying to rebuild. That was them thinking they're a QB away from being a Super Bowl competitor, when they were very far from that. You don't trade a future 1st to add a second edge rusher unless you think that guy is the final piece of the puzzle. The Rams thank them for the top 5 pick they're about to get.

This front office (including Blank and McKay) has dramatically overrated their roster every year since they fired Dan Quinn and it has bitten them in the arse. This team has 4-5 good to really good players at the top of the roster, a few promising young guys (Walker, Watts, Pearce), and a whole bunch of dogshit after that.

I disagree. The Falcons have a handful of young guys in their front 7 who are generating QB pressure and sacks. Once Kirk Cousins comes off the books after this season, they have some skilled young guys on both sides of the ball.

The thing they keep fricking up is the QB position with guys like Desmond Ridder, Cousins and an injured Penix.

You nailed it. Blank thought he could appease this fan base by drafting luxury offense. He refused to bite the bullet and rebuild the correct way.
