^It seems a good number of the older USC football alums are not happy about it, which is a bit of a discrepancy from much of the Trojan fanbase (and possibly Lincoln Riley / the athletic department).

Well CFB keeps making announcements about its death...

How long for the corpse to rot before fans get sick of the stench?

With ND guaranteed a playoff spot as long as they are in the top 12, no reason for them to play anyone other than service academies and directional schools.

What directional schools do they play? I don’t see any on their future schedules.

Sad day for college football. USC’s choice, btw.

Nobody cares about gay arse Notre Dame anymore bro. Everyone is rooting for them to be relegated to playing turds and begging for inclusion as a borderline G5.

Yep, you clearly don’t care about ND.

Nobody cares about Notre Dames gay traditions and rivalries, even their rivals. They're just not important to anyone except Notre Dame and old people who still think ND wields the influence they did 50-75 years ago.

ND refused to play in September, which was the only viable date in the modern landscape, and then ran a media campaign around it to paint themselves as the victim.

This is correct.

Considering we played in October this season and November last season in this modern landscape, it’s clearly not the “only” viable option. The B1G has arranged its schedules accordingly the past two years and would’ve continued to do so.

That will never happen. Too many people derive the majority of their sense of self from their team's success. They can raise ticket prices, pump in garbage pop music, pay 18 year olds more money in one year than the average fan makes in 20 years, take players from rivals to play for them for a year before they move on to another school and they will still lay down thousands to attend.

Or USC not imploding the Pac 12 and moving almost the entire conference to the Big Ten? Scheduling wouldn't be an issue at all. They could lose to Notre Dame late, win the Pac 12, and still go to the CFP. Instead...they're in a fight for survival in these stupid super conferences we made for ourselves.

I think most people who follow USC Athletics much prefer the financial security of the Big Ten to being Notre Dames most important game.

It’s amazing so many of you think USC should play charity to Stanford, Washington State, Oregon State and now Notre Dame. USC was being lapped by schools like Illinois and Iowa with respect to TV money in an era of a free-for-all arms race, but you blame them for this? Lol.

Except they have upped their scheduling to start including multiple SEC teams a year, and Navy is the only scheduled service academy, plus they don’t play any FCS.

Must be nice to make up narratives and post it like it’s the truth.

Navy needs to tell ND that they will play in Annapolis and South Bend instead of a game in Baltimore and let's see what ND says.

Alabama LSU, Florida LSU, and Auburn LSU are no longer annual. By far LSUs 3 biggest games during its golden era of football.

And 2 of them they’ve played damn near every year for 70+ years. Auburn only since the 90s but it is pound for pound one if the best SEC rivalries. Especially since the dawn of the conference championship game era.
