Matter of opinion on all counts. But if that’s your barrier to entry, there wouldn’t be enough players, staff, or owners to even have a league.

Is it defending a racist? Or is it defending privacy; defending private conversations? Again, I don't think very many people agree with what he said. I certainly do not. Is it in line with the way most football coach types think? Probably. Is that an excuse? No.
But if they're gonna leak his private conversations, leak all of them. If there's anything that any of the 32 team coaches or GM's said - ever - let's be able to review them all in public.

The lawsuit answer has already been given.
I also think if Gruden got a chance to tell his side of the story, it’d start with: “Yeah I called that fig commissioner a pussy and I’m not ashamed of it.”
So I imagine his people are telling him to stay away from microphones.

I think it’s interesting that anyone who gets found out and called out for hating minorities, gays, or women, immediately becomes a hero on this site, a mostly right wing site.
Then when people on the left bring up these issues, y’all say “fake news” and act like those issues don’t exist. Interesting.

Again, I'm not defending what he said. I'm defending questioning the way this one particular narrative was leaked. But I completely understand your attempts to pigeonhole it.

I personally have never typed anything remotely close to what Gruden did in these emails or text messages to anyone. As right leaning as you think this site is, I'd venture to believe very, very few posters agree with anything he said. How is it wrong though to just ask the same treatment be applied to everyone in the league?

I struggle to see how anything he said (of what I have read comes off as hating gays, minorities, or women.
He made a comment about a black guy’s lips that he didn’t like.
He said that the NFL commissioner was trying to convince teams to draft an undersized homosexual player solely because he was homosexual.
He made comments about women that I find reprehensible, but was not hateful or anything even insinuating rape.
I hate racism. I hate sexism. I hate chauvinism. While I have a more traditional Christian views on homosexuality, everybody deserves to be treated equally and as God’s beloved creation.
I have no defense of Gruden’s language. But don’t sit on your high horse and act like the majority of the populace’s emails, texts and privately messages selectively released would do them any favors. Yours may be fine. Mine would be fine. While I’m very flawed, I’m smart enough not to put stupid stuff out there.
His “defenders” simply know that one person was singled out here for language in private emails in a league that will protect rapists, murderers, assaults, thieves, and etc to protect their bottom dollar and have very little outrage.
