Most everything I’ve seen him in was quality.

Liked him in The Girl Next Door and Alpha Dog.

He killed his own career

quote:

In 2015, actor Emile Hirsch pleaded guilty to misdemeanor assault after a violent altercation with a female Paramount Pictures executive, Daniele Bernfeld, at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. The incident occurred at the TAO Nightclub, where witnesses reported that an intoxicated Hirsch placed Bernfeld in a chokehold, dragged her across a table, and landed on top of her on the floor.

Dipshit.

What a great underrated movie. Smart arse kid, parents had issues, revolting but lives some incredible experiences free of money. Doesn’t end the best but that was the plan.

The guy the movie was based on was an arrogant dipshit who refused help at every turn and was ill-prepared

Look up the real story

Looking up some info for another thread, I found that Stephen King reviewed this by saying, "Watch it, but not alone."

"Society" Eddie Vedder is awesome.

I liked and hated that movie at the same time. Intrigued by his story, but couldn't wrap my head around just how selfish the main character was to do his family like that.

Would love to hear Emile's side of this. There's not an actor in hollywood who hasn't wanted to suplex a studio executive at some point.

I looked her up… decent filmography… but she also looks like a condescending Jewish woman executive in Hollywood that is a bully.

I have not read the real story but I have heard your assessment from numerous people

Seems like once again, the movie was not true

It’s not that it wasn’t true. Most of the story in the movie is accurate (at least the parts they know for sure). It’s just that he’s so highly romanticized. He’s like this tragic hero. In real life I think he probably viewed himself that way too. But he was really just in idiotic, unprepared rich kid.

I'll never forgive Hollywood for trying to turn that squeaky little dancer into a movie star

It'd be different if it was a he said / she said story, but this altercation had witnesses confirm he attacked her.
