Pretty much a perfect choice

Personally, I think they should do period pieces, set in the 60s, so Bond can be Bond. Cold war, martinis, womanizing, the whole thing.

I also think that Tom Hopper would be a good choice. He played Dickon Tarly on Game of Thrones.

I dunno, maybe not. An Indian actor would fit pretty well. Who's that guy that just did that "monkey" style action movie or whatever? He would be a great Bond.

Yeah that's the guy. He would do great as Bond.

Do you mean no other non-white British actors or British actors in general? Henry Cavill would be perfect for the role.

You're right; I just don't think of Cavill as a British actor. That's 100% on me.

He'd be great for the role, but I don't know if he'd be keen on going full franchise considering his other dips into them turned out "not so great".

We’ve given British actors Superman, Spider-Man, and possibly Hulk Hogan. Maybe they owe us one American Bond?

I think it would be a great move to have the franchise visit a Bond origin story line

We don't need another Batman/Superman/Spiderman/Harry Potter "Uncle Ben" exposition. enough of that shite. We've seen it on every "origin story" now. I think the audience can be given credit to have watched at least 1 super hero movie in the past 20 years to understand the "uncle ben" dynamic and not have to be subjected to this.

What made OG Bond awesome, is it jumped right into the story. Until we got into Craig and his past family issues.

And i liked Craig, for a little bit. But he runs like he's special.

Dev Patel is British, born and raised in London, with Indian ancestors. Not only that, he's an Englishman - unlike Sean Connery(Scot) and Pierce Brosnan (Irish).

Sure, I was just getting ahead of complaints that Patel might be British but not English.

They should reset to a 1960s Cold War vibe... MadMen with guns and gadgets...

Here’s the direction they need to go:

- Get some writers together and tell them to write a compelling script that’s fits the classic formula of a Bond movie. No more personal demons, family backstory, etc. 007 gets a mission and goes globetrotting to find the villain. Along the way he beds one or two girls and does actual espionage.
- Sign an actor that has charisma
- Profit
- Start production on the next movie right as the next one premieres

That worked for nearly 50 years. It can still work today.

Apparently they considered this for Casino Royale, but decided against it because it would ruin most, if not all, of the product placements they do in the movies.

I doubt they would give up that money now either.
