Ok, being that I had to look up what that even is, I’d venture to say that you’re right. At least in my case.

Only quibble - during several of the battle closeups the fighting in thr background is horribly slow and fake and not close to looking real.

What about the car?

There’s a funny blooper when he’s running into battle where he’s got an ax, they show him again and he’s got no weapon, then again and it’s different.

Always found that funny when I was younger (had this on vhs and it was so long it had two cassettes that you had to switch when the first was done )

It’s sort of wild that the Crazy Irishman from “Braveheart” is the same guy that couldn’t spell “citizen” in “The Departed,” and had those small parts in “Wanted” and “…The Deathly Hallows Part 1.”

He was the #4 seed in the 99 Problems But A Dick Ain't One Region. Made it to the Sweet 16.

Beat #13 Sid (Toy Story), #5 Annie Wilkes (Misery), and lost to #1 Percy Wetmore (The Green Mile).

A very respectable showing by Mr. Longshanks.

I think there's one too where he's running with it and it's clearly like a rubber axe because it's wobbling when he runs.

It isn't vital and the ultimate revenge in the story is the Scottish fighting for and winning their independence despite Longshanks execution and public display of William's head and body. The central premise isn't about righting a singular wrong (prima nocte) but rather a nation of people who are treated as second class citizens rising up against their oppressor and earning their freedom.

Also I think it’s when the stirling battle is basically done and there’s just a few stragglers in the background fighting. A couple dudes clearly thought they heard “cut!” and quit fighting on screen.

I love Braveheart.

My only gripe with it (same as it is with 300) is that people think it's historically accurate, which it is not even remotely close.

If you accept the premise that it's historical fiction and enjoy the ride, it's amazing.

Edward Longshanks is one of the best movie villains of all time.

The scene where he confronts his son about losing the Army of the North then throwing his High Counselor/lover out the window is some of the best Patrick McGoohan since The Prisoner.

Man, I got a funny story about this one.

When I was a junior in high school, one of our projects was to write a paper about a movie and then dress up as a character from that movie. I picked Braveheart (I guess the teacher didn't realize there was nudity in it), and my mom decided to sew up a kilt for me to wear for the character dress up day. She went to google Images and searched for kilts. The first few images were normal pictures of Scottish dudes playing bagpipes or eating nasty looking food. Two rows down, there was a picture titled "Half Pounder in a Kilt." It was of a dude with his leg up and his big ole dong visible under the kilt. When my mom saw it, she screamed and started hitting the screen with the mouse. :

Thank you; I belly laughed at this one

Having climbed the Wallace Memorial tower in Stirling, overlooking the Omega shape of the river with the Marshland in the middle, and reading the true story on how he outsmarted, divided, and defeated the English Army at that site, I have always wondered why they didn't just portray the actual events in the movie. it was pretty bad arse

I agree about the score. I bought the soundtrack for that movie on CD and it is great to listen to with the highs and lows and the pace. The drums, bagpipes, flutes, etc. and the way they are incorporated in the score make for a very moving pace.

And yes, Sophie Marceau is one exquisite looking woman.

Robert The Bruce's dad was a deplorable character.

Longshanks was a cruel, vile human being, but a cunning adversary when it came to planning war tactics.

But he (Ian Bannen) was pretty funny playing Jackie O’Shea in Waking Ned Devine.
Many don’t know Brian Cox played Argyle.

The only thing I don't like about it is the love story between William and Sophie Marceau's character. It seems so unnecessary.

What?!?!? Longshanks dies knowing his bloodline is dead and Wallace'[s will one day be royalty.

Sure but he also usurped the royal line and it seals the introduction of Longshank’s sordid character with a devilish karma.

That's the end result. What steps do we have to take to get there?

There's a really cool scene at the end of one of the GOT episodes. The Night King raises a dead dragon. But the entire episode is written backwards from that scene. But you don't watch the episode backwards so when watching the story unfold it's just one leap to the next in order to get there.

Longshanks dying knowing that his bloodline has ended is great. But 1. His son was gay and that was probably happening anyway. 2. Sending his son's French wife to negotiate with Wallace in person makes very little sense. 3. William having a sort of romantic relationship weakens the initial and constant motivation for his revenge. 4. It's boring.

I don't think the movie would suffer at all if you removed that storyline. In fact if he rejected her because his love for his wife was still too strong it would make for a more emotional and powerful movie.
