Had that vhs and watched it often. I liked Bacon as a basketball coach.

Well, here's an example of something that doesn't fit that description.

You sure about that? Classic fish out of water scenario.

Stuff like this, Cool Runnings, Operation Dumbo Drop, and others were just fun, live action movies you could take tour kids to without having to worry about the content contained therein.
We have lost something as a society that there is a market for these films, but few producers. This is part of the reason the Sonic movies have become borderline beloved. They're easy, fun, and there's no subversion.

Woke Communists have taken over Disney and they have destroyed the company. I heard the crowds at Disney this labor day weekend were very scary low and the theme parks are their big money makes (especially Magic Kingdom)
They started hiring woke American hating people for the past several years and we are witnessing the end results of that terrible decision.

2020 and 2021, to a lesser extent are bad years to try to show a trend because the parks were shutdown or attendance was limited because of COVID.
Prices at the parks keep going up while Disney continues to cut corners. Attendance at WDW is down because of the ridiculous number of closed attractions but Disney creates artificial demand by limiting the number of ride vehicles, etc. so people spend extra on Lightning Lanes when true supply/demand makes it unnecessary.
The next couple of years will be challenging at WDW. More people are going to Orlando but not going to WDW. Meanwhile, Epic Universe is doing well.
Disney has lost its way.

Sorry, but a classic scenario alone does not make a film good.

Man, I remember my first ever actual date being bringing a girl to see this movie. Suffice to say, I got friend zoned pretty fast.
