Not that it wasn’t obvious from season one, but there’s been some discussion about that. At least in the show Robin had a fairly decent talk. She may be a bit annoying in the show, but she has her moments.

The ending of E 7, is what I see you meant.

At this point I’m expecting 50% of episode 7 to be some Aggie homo yell leader disgusting scene.

Did no one notice Nancy Wheeler KILLING military men in episode 7!?!?! Was that her first human kill, she acted like it was nothing. When did she become a marksman? Biggest jump the shark moment of the series IMO.

This is where I'm at with the show, lol.
I hit this same point in Game of Thrones when I was rooting for Ramsay.

You can suck yourself into the upside down, bud. It’s not.

Comparing Game of Thrones final season, Dexter, Lost, and How I met your mother finales to this is hilarious at this point.
That's like rooting for Skyler, Marie or Walter White Jr for the final season of breaking bad. They were such horrific main characters thru the whole show.

It's a television show. The upside down is not real life.

Yeah, as much complaining about the Will stuff as there has been about that episode (which is justified due to how ridiculously hamfisted and corny as it was), the last part of the episode is the really WTF part. Hopper basically high fiving her for straight up assassinating soldiers and her grinning about it was pretty absurd.

How about her saying she got a C in Physics? When did she possibly take Physics?

S5 hasn't been perfect, but I still enjoyed watching it. Still the will scene in episode 7 is so damn cringe. Hey it's possibly the end of the world and we need to act, but hey let's gather everyone and have a coming out of the closet moment and spend a ton of time congratulating Will that he wants to play with dicks.

Yeah, pretty much this.
No one has any urgency at all in this season. Let's all just dick around and move as slow as possible.

Killing humans stood out to me as well, I had a moment of thought “I guess they aren’t using actual rounds” but I don’t think that was the case. That I agree with you 100% on, but the Nancy being a good shot remark is wrong. My daughter started watching the entire series for the first time yesterday so I spent a large portion of today watching it with her, and Nancy being a good shot goes back to S1

I can guarantee you when this show premiered it had no intention of become a cheesy LGBT CW show but that's what it became
Unless Noah Schnapp was an obviously gay 9-10 year old when season 1 was being written/developed, there is no way this could have been the envisioned plot.

Very true, the duffers gave long run times for all of the episodes, but filled it with pure shite.
The big complaints all over the internet are the same as here
Max and her refusal to run to her exit portal
All the unnecessary drawn out dialogue
Will's coming out party
8 being part of it.

So how do we think this finale plays out? Shitty writing, acting, and gay stuff aside

They're both foils for bigger characters. Jonathan for Will and Nancy for Steve. They just don't add much value on their own.
I mean… sort of? Or at least they were bigger foils for them in earlier seasons. Maybe it’s just that the writers really haven’t done a good job setting up a convincing love triangle for Nancy, Steve, and Jonathan and that’s whays lacking?

My guess….They defeat Vecna and rescue Holly and the kids. I think Hopper dies, El lives and she and Mike run off together. Will gets a boyfriend and they live happily ever after.
I thought my 13 year old son was going to have an aneurysm during the Max and Holly scene. He kept screaming at them to shut up and run.
I was ready for Jonathan and Nancy to die. He’s my least favorite character.
The Will “coming out” scene was cringe, but not as cringe as I thought it would be.
They definitely amped up the dialogue to stretch out the episodes.
Will having powers has saved this season. It’s been the best part.
