A show about a black middle class family had mostly black people on it? Shocking!

I cant help but notice the show stars a guy who drugged and raped hundreds of women.
Its hard to laugh at that guy.

The '80s version?
Snoozeville, but notable for the fact that virtually EVERYONE (besides me) watched it.
I recall reading it was in every demo's top 5: whites, blacks, women, men, teenagers, children, urban, rural, etc etc etc... We'll never see that again.

They could've hired Marisa Tomei
But I still couldn't watch it. The Cosby Show was boring, but ADW was downright cringe painful

I didn't think you'd like Marisa Tomei
But there is nothing wrong with that

Folks need to see the Cliff's secret barbecue sauce episode.

It’s a great show. Still watch reruns occasionally.

Was watching the first couple seasons (very funny) and couldn’t help but notice that all the actors they had on the show were black, mixed and Asian people. The only white was the little fat kid that they made out to be an idiot. I know the show was designed to uplift black people, but damn zero white folks..
White dude checking in. I watched it as kid throughout its run. Never noticed the lack of white people. Thinking I needed to play Where’s Waldo based on skin color just never occurred to me.

So many good episodes/scenes/dialogue.
The funeral for Rudy's fish
Cliff explaining the economics of life to Theo
Cliff's parents' anniversary and lip syncing Night Time is the Right Time.

I used to love all the "black" shows growing up. Especially Sanford and Son, that's still a GOAT. Probably Good Times or The Jefferson's next, maybe some What's Happening.
I grew up in the 70s/80s with a very diverse group of friends and shite was funny as hell to all of us. We could laugh at ourselves and each other.
Cosby Show was tame AF in the mid-80s.

Cliff being a horn dog is kinda weird now

The Cosby Show is still great. We watch it reruns often in our house and it holds up pretty well. shite is hilarious.
Yeah I know what Cosby did was fricked (isn't there some contention whether or not he did it at all?) so it makes me feel awkward for enjoying it but it was a show I watched so much growing up that it's hard to quit it.

If you think that's bad you should see Sanford and Son
Fred Sanford went to traffic court and accused the judge of being racist. “Look around, judge, you got enough (black folks) in here to make a Tarzan movie.” But he didn’t say black folks.

They were “black shows”. But other than Good Times, at times, (which was set in the Chicago projects) they were rarely preachy about race. They discussed it, of course, but the humor transcended it. Black or white, they were jut flat out funny.
And how can the OP say the Cosby Show rarely had white people? Rudy’s best friend was white!

Redd Foxx (one of my GOAT) calling out crackers is some of the funniest shite in my lifetime.
No preachy, just truth for the time. Some of the best shows ever.
I can still remember Florida in Good Times...

You obviously didn’t read my original post. I specifically referred to Peter being the only white, and played him to be a fat dumbass
