The Big Bang Theory should be in the discussion. 12 seasons and could have gone longer if Jim Parsons had wanted to continue.

It was a specific type of humor but it has a lot of politically incorrect moments which scores high with me.

Seinfeld and The Mary Tyler Moore Show are tops. You can maybe throw The Dick Van Dyke Show into that mix too.

Cheers is probably top 10 but not the GOAT.

They were, however, part of the GOAT lineup - NBC's Thursday juggernaut in the 80s that had Cosby Show, Family Ties, Cheers and Night Court in their prime. That was "must see" and wrecked my homework completion rate.

You spelled Community wrong.

I love Community, but I don't know if I would call it a "sitcom" because the "situations" are absurd. It's more absurdist comedy than situational comedy.

Scrubs kind of bridges the two (real life situations and absurd situations).

I enjoyed some of BBT, but no - it's not "GOAT" sitcom. Longevity helps but despite being on for about half that time frame I'd put Night Court above it, for example.

Seinfeld holds up for me 100%
Wings: 100%
Barney Miller: 100%
King of Queens: 100%
Andy Griffith (B&W Seasons): 100%

think Frasier is consistently funnier and quirkier

I did a rewatch of both during the early months of the pandemic and found Cheers funnier. Frazier was very good but a little more repetitive.

Cheers did dip a little after Shelly Long left but there was also a writers strike in the late 80’s (88 I think and you can tell, just about anything from that season is not good. But bounced back the last 2 seasons for sure. Frasier never tailed off as much.

Overall Cheers peak was higher but it’s dip was worse, Frasier was more steady but not quite as good imo

I'm talking the entire show. It had a very early Frasier Crane the character. And he got a show and the show killed it. Funnier, more witty and much more endearing. Cheers was stupid arse Coach bumbling around and Wooden Danson trying to frick any walking pulse. Diane killed the show

Diane was the worst part of the series of Frasier when she was on it. How bout dat

The dialogue was great, but the actors’ delivery was always PERFECT. That, along with the diversity of characters, really set Cheers apart.

Psych is better than Cheers, among a few others.
