Whatever they are saying now, it would shock me if after next season Lebron walked to Cleveland and Cleveland would say no.
I'm with you. LeBron would screw up their locker room, and they know it. So, just as David Griffin experienced before, having LeBron want to come back to Cleveland would cause a bipolar reaction from the team.
But they'd have to take him. Their fans would crucify them if they didn't.

Oh they are ready
“I wish someone with video editing talents would put together a reel of LeBron "playing defense". He literally didn't play a lick of defense the entire game, standing around in nomansland, sometimes pretending to be in a help-defender-spot to just flinch and turn back on a layup or dunk, so he doesn't get posterized, since he can't laterally get into any position to actually play defense. There was a stretch of 2 minutes where the Clippers made three wide-open threes because LeBron just stood there and didn't close out, got scored on and then shook his head and shrugged as if someone else should have done something.
Team-leading 6 turnovers again, team-lowest -12 plusminus in the fourth quarter alone with only 2 points from freethrows.
Seeing an article about how the Lakers are supposed to build a contender next season AROUND HIM!? Are you fricking kidding me? I would rather build a contender around Austin Reaves.
Can we sit LeBron in crunch time? His hero ball is making it unwatchable.”

Lately, I often zero in on one particular player, while watching a game. (I blame Herb during his college career...for my developing this habit, it's just hard to keep your eyes off that guy) Last night, it was LJ during that game. Amazing lack of effort on his part, especially considering he has pretty much played GREAT all season & is the only thing keeping the Lakers above water. That Clips game is the reason I think LJ may be about to pack it in, for the year...one way or another.

AD apparently out for an additional 4-5 weeks. Would imagine out for the regular season

It’s a very gratifying experience to watch the Lakers crumble, so fast.
Bron may have won “The Decision” but he dams sure lost “The Trade.”
Meanwhile Griffin has used all the resources available to assemble the Avengers in New Orleans.

The fact that he celebrates that AAU bullshite makes him even more of a joke.

Lol. Let’s not go no where near that far. He’s been gifted most of the main parts of the team and has completely wasted numerous assets. And right now the avengers are on the outside looking in of the playoffs….

How about this. siap
Lebron saw that Cleveland wasn’t interested in having him back, so now he’s gonna act loyal to L.A.
And in doing so will continue to be a cancer and run the Lakers into the dirt. Firing GM’s now. Recruiting GM’s from other teams. What a pathetic loser.

According to NBA insider Ric Bucher, Davis might’ve been better off had he not pushed to get traded out of New Orleans.
“I just had this conversation with somebody about Anthony Davis and one GM suggested that he never should’ve left New Orleans,” Bucher said on The Doug Gottlieb Show. “Yes, he ended up winning a ring with L.A., but in the larger scope of things, has he really benefited? Has the perception of him as a player grown as a result of being in L.A.? There’s a debate to be had whether he had stayed in New Orleans and he had gotten them to a Conference Finals or he had built that team into something, that he would be far more celebrated and appreciated than he is right now.”

To be fair there are plenty of GMs around the league that would happily talk shite about he Lakers anonymously, and AD probably is better off with a Bubble Ring, but the fact that this is even being said is kind of surprising.
Posted on 2/27/22 at 6:22 pm to TigerinATL
A lot of people dont value that bubble ring.
In fact its more an AAU-style championship than NBA.
Oddly enough where could they even send Toni since he has a gigantic contract?

That isn’t to say that Davis is a bad player. He’s easily one of the 10 most talented players in the NBA, but it takes more than skill to win a championship. He needed LeBron James to get a ring
translation: you can’t build a team around him

He’s absolutely not an alpha dog you build a team around. He has the skill, but not the mentality and is made of glass.

Toní/Jrue/Zion
That almost happened. If Toní would have been willing to play the 5, can you imagine how that team would have functioned?

Nobody is calling him Street Clothes or Day to Davis(except here)if he stays. His legacy now is like, he's great but it feels like something is missing. If he stayed here he would just be considered great and the organization would be blamed for not doing enough for him. Zion barely even has to play and people give him that benefit of the doubt.

TNT literally gave him the nickname.

What he's saying is the assumed ineptitude of the Pels would have given Davis more cover and benefit of the doubt. Davis left the Pels protective cover and showed the NBA who he really is. He's no longer a What Could Have Been, he's a Never Was.
