He has to figure out a way to be a threat off the pick

Are you really basing his entire game of pick and roll off the ability to shoot 3s off the dribble? Lonzo has been great at pick and roll since he’s gotten going, his pocket passes and cross court passes are literally always perfect.

I love NAW, but his +/- stats are ballooned by garbage time (when he did perform well) but he still looks like a very unsure rookie. I still think he’s confident, but he is very hesitant and pre-determines his actions off the pick and roll. Multiple times he’s gotten 2-3 screens in a row and just kept the ball in his hands. He hasnt been a great passer off picks, and he is awful at finishing right now around the rim, even Lonzo is doing better than him at that action

NAW needs to learn from CP3 or his cousin Shai on how to play slow and controlled (which he does) while also getting quality, non-blocked shots around the rim

We always talk about Jaxson's need to add muscle, but NAW also needs a lot of time in the weight room this offseason. Part of the reason that he doesn't finish better at the rim is that he's just not strong enough.

Dont forget what Jeremy Lin did for 3 weeks.

We need to see Lonzo play well consistently.

Edit: What Im saying is that you shouldnt crown a guy because of a small sample size.

i guess i didn't mention anything about getting to the rim or making a floater when i talked about his pick and roll game, or his lack of movement off the ball, so yeah i guess i'm basing his entire game off of his ability to shoot the 3 off the dribble..... that's what i said, yep.

and again, his garbage time stats are that, garbage. they actually bring his numbers down.

I agree, and i think he'll learn that given more time.
and Lonzo needs to channel his fast break aggressiveness towards the rim into his pick and roll game.

Despite my normal negative talk of Lonzo and obvious bias against him at times, i have complimented him many times, and have even said i think he has the potential to be a fringe all star type player, and was specific in how i thought he could get there.

but facts are that is also a small sample size & he still has a long way to go before he's considered a long-term piece

No, the sample size is too small to deem him a bust

Ball is a year older than NAW. I love how NAW has this bright future when he has looked lost on the court 95% of the time

Are we really comparing Zo to Lin? Not even close to the same ability and potential. All Zo's flaws in his game could easily develop over the next couple years. Needs to become a better finisher at rim and improve free throw shooting. His physical gifts and passing is top notch. Just needs to keep playing.

I will admit Ball and Ingram are blowing me away. I was not impressed at all with them as a core at the trade. Now I am excited with them.

Dude said Lin was good for 3 weeks, I wouldn’t put much stock into it

Ball is shooting 62% from the line over the last 7 games. Small sample but baby steps. Confidence and comfort level are growing in all aspects of his game

NAWs got a great base to be a Kyle Lowry. Dudes got plenty of mass in the lower body, he should have a post game at some point, which would be interesting witch a stretch five/roll r Hayes and a cutter/diver/playmaker Zion.

Kyle Lowry is 6 foot, NAW is at the most 6’4

Cool. And with his big arse he’s going to be able to body up smaller guys in the post, like Lowry. That tool in the bag will open the offense with inversion at worst.

Seeing him earlier this year in several games in what I would consider a fairly significant sample size I could not fathom him playing the way he has of late.

I hope it continues and I hope I'm proven dead wrong in the long run. Hell, he already has proven me wrong I did not see him as being capable of doing what he as the last couple of weeks...EVER. Keep it up young man.
