He literally has C level NFL talent as a whole right now. They are working their way out of cap hell

Think about your top 3 favorite coaches of all time, your personal Mount Rushmore of coaching greatness.

None of those guys are winning 8 games with this roster.

2027 is the year he needs to prove it. The roster should be improved next season, so he needs to win 5-6 games, and then 2027 should be a wild card year.

Dan Campbell's situation with the Lions is somewhat comparable, although the Lions had some better weapons in place. He went 3-13, 9-8, and 12-5. I would expect the same type of progression from Moore.

epends, was it his decision to pass on Jaxson Dart or was it someone elses?

Unless the information comes out otherwise, that will always have to fall on Loomis. We have no knowledge about what type of control Loomis is giving Moore about draft day decisions. It is obvious they thought very highly of Banks, and I think at this point we have to agree that they did not have Dart in the same bubble as Banks.

We also know that the team wanted to trade back into the 1st for Dart, but Loomis did not like the price tag. Dart is playing well, but it also only 6 games into his career. The sophomore slump is a real thing, as well as QBs making the biggest leap, or falling completely off, into their 3rd year. At this point it does appear that Loomis undervalued Dart and should have made that trade (based on Dart's 6 games & Shough's 1 start), but we won't know how bad the team missed for another 2 years.

What's also interesting is how similar their passing stats were with their 1st starts.
Dart: 13/25 65%, 111yds, 1 TD, 0 Ints, 96.0 QB rating. 54 rushing yards, 1 TD, 1 fumble
Shough: 15/24 62.5%, 176yds, 1 TD, 1 Int, 81.2 QB rating, 2 rushing yards.
FYI, that 1 interception dropped Shough's passer rating from 98.6 to 81.2. Not a suggestion that it should not count, just doing the math to show how similar the rest of their passing stats are. Dart's rushing abilities may keep him at least 1 tier higher (if not more based on Shough's ability to progress)

I expect he’ll get at least a second season. The only scenario I see him getting fired is if Mickey does, in which case I’m honestly fine with losing Moore as well if it means we’re rid of Mickey

My beef with him is that things ain't working so try and shake it up to come up with something. Our players never - never - have the ball in space.

But I also haven’t seen a lot of great coaching from him either. He doesn’t interact with the players on the sideline very much beyond the QB here and there, and I haven’t seen any creative moves or playcalling to help them either.

Why bother to interact with players when likely 75% of them will not be on the roster next year! This team is devoid of talent and we still need to get rid of more dead weight salary left over from prior years. .

Guys, coaches know everything about their roster. He has watched thousands of hours of film and practiced all of these players for half a year. He knows exactly what he has and what he doesn't have. Coaches know before the game when they are at a severe talent deficit.

I am not judging anyone on the coaching staff this season, except for the terrible special teams coach. Moore and Staely have been gameplanning with sub standard talent with players that don't fit their system. I believe Moore has been intentionally conservative because of how bad the offense is.

This. Need to see improvement next year. Shouldn’t be picking top 5 next year. 5-6 wins next year

dude - we haven't had that in years - that is not a new thing under Moore - and why do you care - you quit on the Saints and the NFL years ago - according to your own BS whine fest

So obviously, he should get some grace.

But I also haven’t seen a lot of great coaching from him either.

He was dealt a shite hand. He knew what he was stepping into. Either he rights this thing or he doesn't. We just have to wait and see. The FO is his biggest obstacle because the roster can change.

Moore is playing this out well. Go 1-16 year one means 3-14 next year is triple the wins.

You could’ve filled a hole with pick 40 - will Johnson, Mason Taylor, Tate Ratledge look like 10 year starters

True but that was surely a pick that Moore himself had a huge hand in.

I’m not booing this man til loomis is gone and he gets the players he wants. No one can win with this group of no talent players. We literally have the worst roster in the nfl with no future cap room bc we extend old washed up players instead of releasing them. Too much emotions involved instead of business decisions.
