His current deal has him at $15mm per year. Mccaffrey is now at $19mm per year

Seems like Alvin will want a comparable deal to him, but we have to keep Chase Young ($20mm deal at least)

I think we’ll have to let Latt go with AK playing like this

Yep. Kool aid looks to be a promising potential replacement

He signed a one year $5mm extension, so we’re good for next season on him at least

Do you think the Saints should? One of the benefits of having a Kubiak is they get 1000 yard performances out of everyone. Like Steve Slaton and Olandis Gary type everyones.

I’m as big a Kamara fan as you’ll find, but I’m preparing for this to be kamara’s last season here. I don’t think the saints should give him big dollars past 30.

Well he’s signed through next year partner.

He will hold out for real without a deal next year

I think the odds are pretty low he plays out his current contract for us. He will hold out before playing at 30 with no years remaining.

Personally I think so, Kamara is special like McCaffrey. I’ve never seen a back with his balance and ability to catch out of the backfield

Hell Saquon proved why he earns $12mm Monday night because he can’t catch

considering we have Taylor, Adebo, and McKinstry, along with a pretty solid Payton, I'm good with this...

when healthy, Lattimore is as good as anyone in the league... problem is, he's rarely healthy

Add Olave to the mix. I love AK but you can’t pay him like he’s 26 on a 2nd contract when he’ll be 30 next year.

Cap situation, AK contract demands; best case scenario may be to hope for a healthy year, MVP talks, then try to trade him in the offseason and save $18M against the cap…Of course that also requires Kubiak not get poached

I said a few days ago this should be his last year

He's one of the few guys we can cut and save money this off season

Extending him is cap death, especially given his age and position

Nope

Remember when Payton tried making Travaris Cadet a thing for years?

Why is McCaffery paid $19mm per season by Shanahan if that’s the case? Why’d Payton use a 2nd overall pick on Reggie if they’re that common?

Give him upfront money as signing bonus, and a lower salary cap friendly deal.

You could make it work but it’d be tough. You can cut Lattimore and save a ton. Then after 2025 you can cut Demario and Ruiz and save a lot. $18mm off the books for Ramczyk in 2025 too.

Basically it would be difficult in 2025 to squeeze him in, but it would loosen up after that.
