I think wanting a WR at 8 is a little short sighted.
Vele, Olave, and JJ all looked great with Shough. I bet we sign a solid WR in FA.
We HAVE to protect Shough. You win in the trenches
There is no one at a position of need on the OL that is anywhere near appropriately valued at pick 8
More likely we find good guard prospects in round 2 or 3

I agree in principle but you really cant take an IOL at pick 8. If the Miami OT is there, id take him and then figure out Fuaga vs. him later. But if you pick an OL it has to have OT potential, at least.
We have a terrible recent history of drafting OL early and for most of them we changed their position like this. We have to stop doing that shite.

Tyson is more of a 2nd Rd guy. He averages 11-12 yards a catch in college. He's a small possession WR (listed 6ft 2, 200-) that I've seen drop the ball in multiple key spots. I think we all would come to hate that pick if we drafted him at 8.

Fano isn’t your typical Samoan OL. He’s more quick/athletic and his main concern is he needs to gain weight (he’s 304 pounds). He’s more suited for LT and we’re set with Banks there. Mauigoa would be a better fit for the right side.

we would be changing Fuaga's position in this scenario.

Saints need Willie Roaf 2.0

We may have one that's very close.

Does this guy even have break away speed?
Doesnt look like a top 10 pick.

if Bain is there at 8, he is absolutely the guy i'm getting... i think he is the most sure fire pick of this entire draft

There’s something about Downs that would really make this defense special.
This scheme really needs strong safety play in order to work. We got good safety play this year. With elite safety play, this defense could be special.

3rd round is the sweet spot for IOL. I’d love to trade down and grab another 3rd and double dip at IOL.

every early mock shows Saints passing on Bain
No way that happens
you can hit on a RB or WR in 2nd round

Lots of good options in round 3 and 4 at RB that have serious juice.
Jadarian Price - ND
Demond Claiborne - WF
Nick Singleton - Penn St
Raleek Brown - ASU (maybe portal)

I’ll give you price but there’s a clear gap between him and Love and the rest of those guys.

It is crazy what that first half of the OSU game is going to do for Bains draft capital. I am not anti Bain, but he looked like a freak in that game.

Don't know how you pass on Bain

Tyson has elite separation skills. He would immediately bring our offense to a whole new level. Sign a guard in free agency and if you do somehow keep olave for a few more years then the offense would be unstoppable next season.

Tyson would be great. brought his drop rate down from over 8 to a little over 1.

Serious question, is Bain really that good? He’s been great in the two playoff games, but the two or three times I watched him during the season I was underwhelmed. Almost half his sacks and TFL have been in the last three games.

Does he? He seems to lack explosiveness and elite speed and he’s been injured every year. I know SFP had some analytics for Keon Coleman last year showing how he couldn’t separate. I wonder what Tyson’s numbers are.
I agree we need a #1 WR. I think this year has some solid WRs like Tate and Boston, but I don’t know if there is an elite one like a JSN or Chase. IMHO

Bain is clearly a guy that takes stretches off, but when the spotlight is on, he can turn it on like a switch. I think that’s the risk you take with him. Not sure if it’s a matter of maturity or motivation or leadership holding him accountable. But in the playoffs, he has been possessed, and he has wrecked shite. If he gave the same effort through the middle of the season, he’d be a no doubt top five guy.
