Ill buy $20 when it gets over a billion.
I think they rig the algorithms sometimes where the computers know which combos haven’t been bought in order to get these big jackpots. So I never buy until it’s gets to about 900mil
I don’t believe for a minute they still do the random ball selection from a tumbler

Now you tell me! I’ve already spent the $1.
Maybe they will let me in the club anyway

Powerball is still $2/ticket
Megamillions costs $5 / ticket. They priced themselves out.

I had 3 numbers including the powerball a couple of weeks ago when it was $775 million. I missed the other 3 numbers by just 10 digits combined.
So, yeah I won $7

Lawyers of TD explain the process- person wins 1.6 billion hires a lawyer to set up an llc to claim the winnings. How exactly does it go?

You pay an arse load to some douche to keep your money private. I would tell them to just deposit it in my accounts. Don't care if the world knows I have money. You never here of a winner getting caught up in ransom. They spend it all.

I believe there are some tax advantages of claiming as an LLC or a trust. So you may still need to pay a lawyer douche and an accountant to setup all that.
I would form the Winning LLC in honor of Charlie Sheen. But if I had that kind of scratch to deposit in my local bank, I probably would become one of their largest depositors overnight, that could be very dangerous. If the bank fails regardless of size, each account is only insured to FDIC limits, so you may need multiple accounts to spread out to multiple banks to ensure your money is insured.

Tickets at $5 a pop kinda disinterested me from buying my normal 20 during high lottery winnings. Might get 2
They are still $2 at least it was on Saturday. You don’t NEED to get the extra shite that only helps for the smaller things.

I am not your lawyer.
I thought this only mattered with shared ownership of a ticket, like an office putting together a pool.
This is not tax advice.

LLCs are simple to set up. Just get form from state and fill out yourself. But, you still need an attorney, and probably a bunch of other people you shouldn't trust.

Yeah, it was my fault. Went to an dot indian convenience store and forgot which one was the "big" one. I asked the barely english speaking person and he said Mega millions. So, I spent 5$ per ticket on the wrong lottery.

In Louisiana officers of the LLC are still public record.
Better option is to establish a Delaware LLC for privacy, then set up a Trust. Have LLC as beneficiary of Trust.
You get all the benefits of the money but no one knows you won and your funds are secure.

I was pretty much settled in for the evening last night when at about 8 pm, something told me to run out and buy 5. So I did.
Moral of the story: when you're settled in for the night, don't listen to little voices in your head.

I have six kids. I'd probably have them all sign the ticket and let them split it. I figure, if I won it in my name when I gave it to them they'd all have to pay taxes (again) on theirs. I don't want to be investigated anyways.

There are 292.2 million combinations of the powerball. At $2/ticket, you would spend $584.4 million to get each combination for a guaranteed winning combination. So if you have $584.4, you could win $1.7 Billion guaranteed. I just don’t know how much it would cost or how much time it would take to pencil in all the combinations of numbers and submit them to the clerk at the gas station. It would also be my luck if I could do all that, that like 5 other people would win on that week!
