IPAs are overdone but some are really good. Ghost in the Machine and Dr. Juice by Parish are my favorites.
Agree with this. HH, you should try Planet Juice by Gnarley Barley. Better than Dr. Juice IMO.

Stop drinking at hotel bars and stadiums?
The beer bar around the corner from me has most beers in the $5-$6 range for a pint, with a few on special for $3. Sometimes an imperial stout or imperial IPA will be $7-$8.

Yup, dark stouts are the way to go
My favorite stout I found this year is Abraxas from Perennial Brewing. Imperial Stout brewed with ancho chili peppers, cacao nibs, vanilla beans, and cinnamon sticks. It's not cheap (a bit more than $9), but damn is it good. If you have the means, I highly recommend picking one up.

Not sure why 7 out of 10 taps at bars seem to be IPAs these days.
Because awhile back making the hoppiest most bitter beer possible became a weird dick measuring contest for craft breweries...and craft beer hipsters ate the shite up. It's not my favorite, but can respect a good IPA...but Jesus some are so over the top hoppy I don't know how anyone can seriously enjoy them

A draft of craft is usually $5-6 here. Domestic is usually $2-3. Yall getting raped.

Too bad the bottom right image from another thread on the first page of the OT represents how I feel about my local Twin Peaks...

It is the same here with some notable exceptions. Baton Rouge's Mid-City Beer Garden charges nearly double the market rate for pints of beer. I love their atmosphere but avoid them due to their prices

Another great "juicy" IPA is Jucifer by Gnarley Barley
I'm a big fan of Canebrake (Wheat Ale) by Parish

Yep. Live right around the corner from 3rd Turn and paid like $4 for a good sour. Had West Sixth’s Cocoa Porter on tap as well for about the same price.
I didn’t even pay $9 for a good bourbon cocktail.

Personally, I don't find it difficult to enjoy a wide variety of beer styles. Wheats, ambers, stouts, porters, IPAs, etc are all good in my book.
