They also bite Although not venomous, they still bite little kids just like dogs do
And?
So your kid says “ouch” then moves on with their life. Not even remotely as painful as a bee sting. Kids need to toughen up these days.
And you’d really have to corner that thing to get bitten - they just want to get away.

There are no bad snakes.
Just bad snake owners.

I hate how the water snake and rate snake almost automatically look poisonous.
Also one of the most poisonous snakes the coral snake doesn't look poisonous. But I've never seen a coral snake in the wild and I've spend a lot of time in the woods.

I’ve never seen a Coral snake either. I’ve seen the rest and a bunch of other non venomous snakes.

The best way to properly identify a potentially poisonous snake is to pick it up and touch his nose.
If you end up in the hospital, it’s bc it’s poisonous.

Seen them twice in the last 20 years. I barely go into the woods too.

What does “look poisonous” mean?

I am going to be "that guy" on this. They are not poisonous. They are venomous. Generally speaking, poison is consumed and venom is injected.

Venomous*
Here's a dude who found out the hard way not to dick around with coral snakes or snakes that look like coral snakes. Also, the rhyme is not always helpful.

“Poisonous” snake will only hurt you if you eat it. It “poisons” you if you consume its flesh. “Venomous” snake bites and in so doing, injects “venom” into that which it bites. So many (too many) people don’t know and under stand the correct terminology.

Usually you can tell if a snake is venomous or not by how innocuous they appear, but that one looks like it can’t wait to bite a mf
