No. But my nephew did and the chunk of metal they put in him to help it heal repeatedly had staff. By the time he was done he had to change professions because his collar bone was practically tissue paper.

We aren’t sure but my wife likely broke hers on a fall off a horse.
It was obviously no longer symmetrical and to this day is crooked.

We both figured there wasn’t much to be done. No hospital trip or pain meds. Took weeks for the arm to work back normal function.

Long way of saying my wife is tougher than you, pussy.

Twice.

First time I was in Kindergarten sitting on the sidewalk minding my own business playing Hot Wheels with my friend and this fat girl was running and tripped and fell on me

Second time I was playing Junior High basketball. Went up for a rebound and got undercut. Fell flat on my back and a dudes knee came down on my shoulder.

I don't think it was broken but as a teenager I'm pretty sure I dislocated mine. I just know I couldn't raise my hand on that side to my mouth for over a month. No one would take me to the hospital so I just had to let it heal on its own which it mostly did

Broke mine in football in college. Had to wear a strap that goes around shoulders, and tightens in the back. Pulls shoulders back so clavicle can start to heal?
FYI, mine was broke, not cracked

Xray is in, officially a break. Guess I’ll be out of the gym for at least a month

fun fact, if you let it set naturally you lose length in the collarbone and as a result, strength because of the shorter radius.

If you're serious about GAINZ better tell them folks to put a plate in there, compadre. Keeps the length if you get my meaning.

Broke mine and it almost came out the skin, all these years later I still have a lump. They didn't set it so the bones were overlapped a touch and it healed like that.
Of all the bones I've broken, this was the least painful and easiest to deal with. The first week or 2 sucked because you can't lift your arm up to put on a shirt, but once you get past that it's not too bad for a broken bone.
Getting out of bed can be a little tricky too depending on which side you broke and what side of the bed you sleep on.

My broken collarbone story won't be helpful but I'll tell it.

I was 2. lol.

Jumped off of a bed and boom. My doctor told my mom I was fine but a weekend of my screaming and they took me to get some x-rays and sure enough I had a broken collarbone.

Too young to remember.

I do however have some memories of reach up and grabbing the cast iron handle on the stove and spilling boiling hot oil all over my arm. That pain was enough to permanently stick in my brain.

My daughter did a couple years ago when she was 7.

She basically was in a sling for a while and it healed itself. The first couple days were rough though.

Broke mine back in the day. Thankfully it fell back into its slot, and was able to heal without surgery. That’s usually the case, but sometimes surgery is required. Had to where a brace similar to a posture device to keep your shoulders from rolling forward. Unfortunately you have to sleep semi sitting up for a few weeks till it mends back together. Take a lot of Liquid Calcium (Bluebonnet Brand) that’ll shave a couple weeks off healing time.

Broke mine working out with weights, not even that heavy. Doing flies lying flat on a bench. Good results from surgery but did have to wear a sling for a mth.+ But, a warning: La. law is if you have a car accident while wearing a sling, regardless of who is at fault, you are automatically considered guilty. Biggest issue wasn't pain, just uncomfortable & hard to sleep. A "bad break" but post surgery no issues at all.

Yep…. Corpus Christi drunk got kicked out of the bar because we were using a fake id, fell and a buddy “belly flopped on me as I rolled. Passed out and woke up every so often once in a strip club, once when a cop tapped on the window and finally in my bed the next morning screaming in pain. The next day went on duty and was told to go to medical. About 4 months before 9/11.

12 years old. Motorcycle crash. Had to walk about 4 blocks to the house. One ankle was jacked pretty badly also.

Ride to the ER in that old Ford LTD was brutal. We just have hit every pot hole on Highway 15.

And when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, here comes Nurse Ratchet with the cinch. Not the worst pain I’ve ever had (kidney stone), but probably second. I swear when she cinched that thing up and pulled that broken clavicle into place, I saw Jesus.

First day of 8th grade was the next day and hell yea, Mom made me go. We were late and she walked me to the door to tell my teacher what was going on. No recess, no showers.

It sucked

First week was brutal. One afternoon I was walking beside the house when a GD’d red wasp the size of a Robin stung me. I jerked as I started running. Damn it hurt. Years after it healed it would hurt me before it rained.

I’ve broken it 3 times. Next 4-6 weeks suck and then it gradually gets better. Get used to using the other side of your body.

I know a guy who once broke both his collarbones and his legs in a motorcycle accident. It could always be worse.
