I’m so damned tired of hearing shite like this.
These animals are one twitch away from killing a child. It’s absolutely ridiculous that ppl defend the way they do.
At least with an exotic animal like a tiger or Komodo dragon one expects it to lose its shite someday.

Lopez told deputies he didn't have the dog on a leash during the attack, breaking parish law. He says he wasn't home at the time and that he left his dog unrestrained and free to roam before leaving his residence.
This pissed me off reading how the owner had no care for what his dog could do to others and he needs to be attacked by a pack of pits and tear his arse up to pieces.

It’s actually a couple different things, but yes there is no denying that genetics comes into play when discussing natural aggression. Especially considering pitbull advocates go to argument is that chihuahuas are inherently more likely to bite than their flower crown pajama wearing “Luna” or “Zeus”. Which makes the “it’s the owner not the breed” argument fall apart pretty quick if chihuahua’s are naturally aggressive.
If pitbull owners can’t admit that their dog is more likely to snap and maul simply based on genetics, then at least let’s admit that these dogs clearly are more difficult to train and control than any other breed. There’s gotta be some bad golden retriever owners out there right? Where’s all the maulings from bad ownership?
Animal shelters lie about breeds to move these dogs because no body wants a pitbull. This is extremely dangerous for potential families who want to get a rescue dog. Fun test, go to a local adoption site and look at what they’ll consider a “lab mix” or an “Australian shepherd mix”, which are clearly pit terriers.
One last thing they are not, and never were, “nanny dogs”. That literally wasn’t a thing, and never was true. Leaving your baby alone with a pitbull or any dog really is highly dangerous. If you dig into that myth it doesn’t take long to see that it was simply made up and shared amongst pb owners as a response to weekly maulings.
Second Lastly, there is a temperament test that’s being shared about how well pitbulls did on some test. Do not buy into it. These tests are set to a breed specific standard, so the labs tested against a Labrador standard test. When a pit owner tries to show that it was more tempered than a golden retriever that’s NOT what that test showed. Completely wrong. The pitbulls in that test tested very well against the “pit terrier staffordshire” specific breed. To even suggest a pitbull is more tempered or docile than a golden retriever should take you out of a debate at once.
