Cane's, for example, I used to love but now their fries are soggy as frick, and their tenders are tiny as frick, and yet with inflation, a box combo is $11.

eh, Cane's fries were always weak imo. The tenders used to be big tho. Used to be 4.99 for a box and 6.99 for a Caniac when I went to LSU and a box used to be 5 huge tenders

Maybe I’m trashy as frick, but I still very much enjoy fast food.

I loved fast track and their cajun fries growing up.

Big O and seasoned fries from Fast Track back in HS seemed like it was amazing

What Burger King has done to the Whopper over the years should be criminal.

Arby’s used to have a 1/3 lb. burger and it was much better than the other fast food burgers. Then their whole advertising campaign became promoting lean roast beef over burgers, so they ditched the burger. A sad day indeed.

I remember when Popeyes actually served edible food.
At one time (90’s), it was even my favorite fast food place to go.
I think I last got food at one in 2018.
I remember when you could order at Popeyes, get what you ordered, and get reasonably friendly service...and the food was good.
But that's been a long time ago, many years past the point where I said, "no mas."

Fast Tracks at Lee and Highland was pretty good.

Subway when it had the yellow benches and New York subway wallpaper
Yellow Wendy’s
Pizza Hut was the absolute bomb back in the day when you would go in and sit down and eat. Dad gets a beer while the kids play in the mini arcade

Rally’s, in the fork of the road near Pontchatrain Blvd/Robert E. Lee/heading towards Bucktown, years ago made a mean Big Buford and the fries were always hot and crispy.
I came here to talk shite about no fast food tasting good. Then I read this.

You could replace the word Whopper in this sentence with fries and have also been correct.

Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, and KFC all were good until Yum! Brands took over

That old stuff was the tits. Real grease for real men. Not so coincidentally, right around the time they were required to forego further use of the good stuff is when we started to get soft. Early 90s ish.
Govt pushed to eliminate fats in food thinking it was bad but in reality fats are good for you. Eating fat does not equal becoming fat. When they took fat out of food it lost flavor and they made up for it by adding sugar and sodium. Sugar makes you fat and diabetic. Sodium causes high blood pressure. And it’s also addictive so people start eating too much of it.

The Wendy’s double stack for $1 was the best deal any fast food restaurant ever had.

Sadly this shows I'm getting pretty old but we finally got a McDonald's in Central when I was in HS. I still remember exactly what a quarter pounder meal deal cost. $2.99+tax. If you had 13 quarters you had a meal after football practice

will enjoy a double qp w/cheese until the day I die.
Got one of these few weeks ago first time in years and it was shockingly fresh, hot and pretty good. Better than any Wendy’s or BK I’ve had lately

The big chains are bad now. But you have some up and coming chains that are good. I would never buy McDonalds or comparable unless I was desperate
