For the low, low price of $75 million.
Now, for comparison sake - Elon can "only" afford 4,400 of them. For another comparison, the USAF has a little over 5,000 total aircraft in service.

I’ve been looking for a cheap third plane. This could work

Meaning what, if you only have $20MM you can’t afford a jet? Plenty of jets are flown by their owners who have less than 20mm. You can get many many older jets under 500k. Maintenance will probably run you that much every year, but if you are using the plane for business travel, that can easily be justified.

My Majordomo's sommelier has already pre-ordered his. Makes for a quick trip to KECP and 30A.

don't get me wrong, I'd love to have a private jet at my disposal but the only "justification" of owning a jet for business travel is to lessen wear and tear on the CEO, the idea is that he/she can work enroute unbothered with the hassles of cattle car air travel, get rested and refreshed and be ready to hit the ground and continue working, and that's not a fit for the CEO of just any company

My neighbor is the pilot for a very successful OC businessman that will call him in the middle of the night and say, "So-and-so wants to go shopping in Germany. Get the jet ready."
I'll have to ask him which model he flies and if his boss will pick up one of these.

Do these things tend to be fitted with just like big chairs or do they have like a bedroom and a bathroom with a shower inside of them?

whatever you’d like to pay for
ETA:will call him in the middle of the night and say, "So-and-so wants to go shopping in Germany. Get the jet ready."
that would suck, my wife's boss keeps bugging me to find him a jet, assuming that I'll fly it, every time we're talking about it his daughter will butt in and ask "will that jet be able to fly to Europe?" I always say, "not with me on it" he could justify it for bidness but I'm not going to be the gofer for his kids

Not buying them, but Netjets and charters are definitely in that wheel house

Looks like this solves the London to Perth problem and basically makes the entire world non-stop from the Middle East.
I could see O&G, Mining and Sheiks "justifying" the purchase based on that benefit and just having a crap ton of cash.

Yeah ive looked into it and you can charter a small (8 person) private jet for around $7500 an hour.
Not a bad option if you split with other couples as first class to anywhere domestic is gonna be $1000 or so a person

It’s a joke. But the general gist of the joke is you can own the world and all of its experiences for a tidy net worth of $20,000,000 and your life beyond that point isn’t really changing much as wealth increases. Whether you are a professionally hobbyist at this point is a lifestyle choice and not a financial one.
Except for owning your very own globe trotting jet. That’s a perk that might be worth getting more and more.

this. $20miilion isn't what people think it is, especially over the last 5 years. But you are correct about the lifestyle. But you need waaaay more than $20million to globetrot on you own private jet and maintain your wealth.
