Mad respect to you for chasing the oil $ but…damn. I just spent the week in Odessa for work and that is the most unappealing place I’ve been to in the US by a wide margin

You absolutely can get flat iron steaks at HEB. I did 4 days ago.

I haven’t seen them at mine, but I’ll ask the butcher. I do like all the other steaks at HEB, except I prefer to go to a local meat market for my round steaks and pork steaks.

I think HEB is great!

But how can it be America’s top grocer if it’s only in Texas?

My HEB always has Abita. But…why would you expect a Texas based grocery store chain to carry Louisiana craft beers?

Yes, but when my son was in College Station, we didn’t have a Total Wine in New Orleans.

late 80s when I was at LSU they sold these mini-packets of salisbury steak or turkey plus gravy, Serve them over rice and you had a meal. 3/$1

I ate a shitload of those in college

yeah, there ain't much appeal out here for sure, but it's actually not that far of a drive to places with appeal on weekends.

What part of Odessa did you go to?

need at least 3 more in Odessa.
the two we have are way too fricking crowded.

Aside from going in off times, I think this is unavoidable with HEB no matter how many there may be.

Odessa

You call that living?

I used to fly to vegas on southwest and it would connect through Odessa.

Watching all the people board the plane for Vegas from Odessa was like seeing the faces of people getting out of Saigon at the end of the Vietnam war.

Theyd go from stressed, to relived to excited over the course of about the first 30 minutes onboard .

I have a co-worker who is absolutely butt queer for HEB

I have one a half mile from me in Houston and as proud as I am to be a Texan, HEB is not special. The parking lot is a zoo, I have to wait in line to get down each aisle with my cart, they frequently don’t have the products I buy on a regular basis, and the store is laid out bizarrely. (Canned drinks are in three different parts of store). It’s fine, but can’t imagine making a special trip

Have you tried many HEB brand products

And would you consider the staff more receptive polite professional than at a Kroger's
