Some of you are so lame.

They aren’t what they once were but still pretty bullet proof. Also, their add ons are outstanding.

My wife just had to have it. I use it all the time, she hasn’t used it once. My favorite attachment is the cheese graterl. That thing makes quick work of a block of cheese.

They are well built. My mother has been using the same one for 40 years. The Toyota of kitchen mixers.

Yep.
I use it more than my wife. Bought the upgraded stainless attachments for sausage making.

Yep. I use mine for baking, mostly when I don't feel like kneading bread by hand. The attachments are great too.

100%
One of the few brands that has not sacrificed quality over the years, just pick one up and you can see that it weighs about double

Yep. But you can sometimes get them on sale or you can buy one used. It’s an essential kitchen tool IMO. It beats the hell out of a hand mixer.

Yes. I’ve had mine now for I think 12-13 years? Maybe longer. Still works as good as the day I got it.
I don’t bake super often but it works great for a lot of different recipes.

They're not unless you bake a lot, but that's not the question.
Your SO wants one, so you're going to bend the knee and buy it for her to watch it get used once at Thanksgiving. Just give up and stop trying to logic your way out of what your woman wants. If you refuse her and make her use a hand mixer once a year, she will visit financial pain upon you ten fold to make you wish you'd just capitulated anyway.

They're nice and work as advertised. I'd spring for the "pro" models, not the tilting ones. Those supposedly will fling batter across your kitchen.
The are potential drawbacks, however.
1) Your wife doesn't use the mixer nearly as much as she thought she would and you just sprung for the fancy model only to have it collect dust.
2) Your wife actually uses the hell out of it and you both end up getting fat from all the delicious treats she keep cranking out.

Mrs. Sparks loves ours and it's like a tank.

100%
I guess it depends on how much you bake though

Our KA stand mixer gets used weekly, it's 50+ years old...
Bought a 7 speed KA hand mixer a few months ago, it is a HUGE disappointment, low power, low speed, etc....

Lift model is the original with metal gears.
The tilt models you see at Costco and home stores have plastic gears. Not as durable.

KitchenAid mixers worth the money?
Yes.
Is the Ankararum Original worth the money? I don't know. Maybe an OT Baller can chime in.
