Yes. But it also screws over the people they interact with. I didnt consent to have my image uploaded to Meta's servers because the glasses user signed a terms of use agreement.

I saw a nurse in Woman’s Hospital wearing them. I was thinking “how in the f is that allowed?”

The data pipeline behind it routes your bedroom footage to a contractor with a documented history of worker exploitation
This trope again! Paying workers the amount they require to voluntarily work for you is NOT exploiting workers. Economists have debunked this nonsense dozens of times by showing that the workers’ lives improved when they started being “exploited” and their lives got worse when some western do-gooder forced the company to quit “exploiting” them.

I'm not talking to anyone who is wearing those things. They will be treated like a pariah.
Also, someone made a detection app...

Yep. All the smart gadgets are just spy machines. We are the product being sold.

cgrand Report
Summary: He is relatively tall.
Initial fight plan: My chair elevates to put me at around 5'6, but chair can't reach make speed when elevated. We need to make it a foot race, but be in position to put distance between us and let stamina win it. So the plan is to attack and go. Using a weapon TBD I hit him, take off. The longer he isn't able to run after me the better chance I have of getting away without retaliation.
This is basically my plan.

Sama, a subcontractor in Nairobi, Kenya ( can) see everything you recorded, intentionally or not. … One worker said “we see everything, from living rooms to naked bodies.” Meta’s automatic face anonymization is supposed to protect people in the footage. Workers say it fails in certain lighting. Faces that should be blurred are sometimes fully visible. The person you recorded without knowing? A stranger in Nairobi can identify them.
Shouldn’t we thank Zuck? It could have been Somalians learing how to review the pics.

Why the hell anybody would wear those things is beyond me.
I had a doctor at an urgent care walk into the room with them on which triggered an impulsive wtf response from me.
I had a 3 levels up manager walk into a technical review with them on with sensitive information all over the place in the otherwise secure room.
People are so giddy to rush head long into AI fricking everything up. People are fricking stupid.

Exactly. It would be MUCH more shocking if this wasn’t happening.
