Divorce is a business transaction. Radio silence unless absolutely necessary.
The house is on fire at this point, so don't spend your time watering the lawn.
Keep your cards close. Never reveal or show your hand before it is time.
Even if you don’t want a divorce, and you are on the receiving end of a divorce suit, it means you are both getting a divorce.
Divorce can be unilateral and does not have to be a joint decision.
Never leave your marital residence unless ordered by the court.
In Louisiana, there is no “legal” separation.
Child support is based on the stated income / support tables.
In a community property state, there is a 50/50 division of assets.
The more you fight, the richer the attorneys become.

I'll tell you this, to determine my accuracy. I was married to an attorney for many years. We share a child. Both made decent $, i made more many of the years.
She got no $$ from me and no monthly support. I pay school and insurance...and whatever he wants needs, etc Private schools, et al

To be clear, she protected herself as well...but more legally out in the open
Deal with it however you like men. I took steps, some with her knowing, to make damn sure none of my personal assets were lost.
Men, you aren't helpless in these situations, if you prepare for this kind of day. Take action, early and often...or face the firing squad of the courts...the courts a heavier sided w the women.

No paper trail. Again, as long as any filing hasn't happened. And yes, I was giving a basic tactic to display there are options out there. Stay home and stay miserable, just to accomplish your goals. Attorney's LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the advice being given here. "Fight her every step of the way..." People spend $50,000 on an attorney to keep $25,000 in assets.
My buddy and his ex spent hours upon hours of attorneys fees fighting over a $5,000 rug. Idiots should have flipped a coin and walked away.
