One of the all time great songwriters. He was still performing recently and sounded great.
Was in the pit at the Sphere just a couple of years ago for Dead and Company. Seemed to be sturdy at the time.

I got to see him play a handful of times as an old man. Wish I could have seen him and Jerry

While not a “deadhead” per se I’m thankful I had the opportunity to see them several times in the 80’s and they never disappointed. Sometimes that “space” thing they did would get a little too spacey, I never dropped acid, so probably just couldn’t dig it.
The most memorable was July 4, 1987 Foxboro, MA - The Dead and Bob Dylan, who uncharacteristically, wasn’t awful. People were waving American flags; hippies were dressed like Uncle Sam and Paul Revere types. They played one of my favorites, Jack Straw, and stretched it for what it seemed like 10 min. It was incredible. Hands down, the best song I’ve ever seen performed live.
RIP Mr. Bobby Weir and thank you for your contribution to some of the best times of my youth.

Wasn’t my pinky toe, but today it was the one left of the big toe.
Music is still terrible.

We built a homemade bar outside in our carport at one of the places I lived in Baton Rouge, last year of my six year tenure as an undergraduate.
Kegerator, and bc all three guys there worked in restaurants, we had it piled high with liquor as well.
We called it Sugar Magnolia.
Weir had an amazing run in life. Meant a lot to legions of fans and musicians alike. Filled stadiums for decades. Bad words seldom spoken about the man. Only married once with two daughters.
As a 42 yr old, I can type with confidence that musicians like him aren’t created anymore.
