Duvall without a doubt might be the best actor of all time (at least in the conversation for it) but he wasn’t exactly a leading man. For instance he wasn’t who you got to be the main star. His gift was being the supporting actor and carrying the movie to a level it wouldn’t have gotten to otherwise.

Unreal actor. My dad is a TX Ranger and Lonesome Dove is his favorite series of all time. He said “let the English play Hamlet and King Lear- my Shakespeare is Lonesome Dove & Augustus McRae is my favorite part.”
