As far as being prosecuted goes, Homeland Security has such a high conviction rate because they basically have the evidence and case already built by the time they bring charges against you. This takes time to collect, compile, and assemble. They don't just hear rumors, go arrest someone, and only then snoop around for evidence. That's how evidence gets deemed inadmissible and cases fall through. That's why it took a while for the arrest despite it being pretty much an open secret to a lot of people.
The lawsuits are civil charges, not criminal. Once the feds come down with criminal charges then victims feel safer filing the civil suits, hence the windfall of them after the feds swooped in

I don't really understand what he's accused of doing. He had a bunch of sex? With women basically attending a "Sex Party w/ Puff Daddy?"
Just seems like a welcome distraction for the cops, who ought to be doing more mundane shite like directing traffic and investigating property crimes.

The indictment, which aligns with many of the claims brought against him in the lawsuits he’s recently faced, claimed that he displayed a “persistent and pervasive pattern of abuse toward women and other individuals.” It alleged that he and associates would threaten and coerce victims into participating in days-long sex events referred to as “freak offs,” and would hire sex workers that were transported across state lines or internationally.
The raids on his homes in March turned up “freak off supplies” including drugs and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and other lubricant. Combs was accused of filming the “freak offs” as “collateral” against victims and used to maintain their silence.

So, is it fair to state that most of these people had no real trauma until they smelled an opportunity for a payday? I mean, none of them could be bothered to file criminal complaints against him when the shite happened, but now he is a monster and justice must be served?
