Pass a law to issue an automatic .2% discount for using a self checkout, and watch the frickers disappear overnight.

There are ways to do it wrong and ways to do it right.

I wish the store I shop at had the app for scanning the items when you remove them from the shelf, but they don't.

So, whenever I place something in the cart, I position it so that the barcode is easily accessible. Anything with a handle, or is in a large cardboard box, gets scanned as it sits in the cart. I only take time to bag the smaller items.

People who waste time searching for the barcodes are doing it wrong.

If self checkout gives you something to bitch about, Y’all are going to hate the HEB myHEB app. Scan the barcode for each item on your phone, put the items in your bag(s) as you shop, and then weigh your cart before you leave and pay by phone. Checkout takes less than 60 seconds. Best grocery shopping experience ever.

You should probably disable location services if you’re doing this. They are collecting a lot of data on you.

Then don't use it. Problem solved.

I can't speak for society, but I generally prefer to get out quicker and am not all that thrilled about interacting with many of the cashiers I have encountered.

I appreciate the convenience of self-checkout and use them consistently with no issues.

In just a few short years we will see all of this done as you load em in cart.

Sometimes on rare occasions I prefer to have the cashier bag my groceries.

I love how this board is filled with self proclaimed badasses who can knuckle check anyone at their local sonic. But god forbid making eye contact with a cashier.

I refuse to get checked out by some basketball American woman who gives the dmv level service and attitude. So I always use self checkout.

PSA. If you have 2 carts full to overflowing, you should go to a cashier.

I said "Dis be an artichoke" and went on with my life until self checkouts relieved me from having to deal with Bon'Quisha's

Conditioning? You are talking about sliding a barcode over a scanner and placing the item in a bag. Nobody is asking you to grow the fricking produce

What are you getting in return for self checkout, other than covering for a store that decided not to hire enough people?

‘But the savings’

Prove that savings are being passed along to the consumer. It is a nice assumption, but has anyone seen the numbers?
