A condo down on the beach would be interesting if it hit the market after being a failed Airbnb

They were dirt cheap after the 08/09 crash.

Yep. I have two friends who purchased some condos during that time. It’s hard to think that I would have the stomach to buy when things were looking that bleak.
Those guys have made some some serious $$.

Idk im still usin g vrbo for the LSU FSU game.

Just prefer to share a house over a hotel room. Plus the hotel prices in orlando are a bit steep for not so great imo.

I’m a big fan of buying during down times and riding up.

I’d also be tempted to just move to it if it’s dirt cheap and live condo life for a while

Do you have a crystal ball that helps you with the timing of how far down is the buy in point?

I have nothing to add that hasn't already been said.

It was awesome starting out, and once Covid started going away, people wanted to get out and travel so a lot of people bought them, but it's basically an easy way for people to make a buck so they got greedy. The price in general got way too much, they give you a bunch of fees all while you having to do the work, with customer service dipping anyway.

Had an AirBnb for Omaha and they charged fricking $300 all while making us to all the chores and put shite away anyway. Owners don't have to do shite.

Unless you're on a bachelor/bachelorette trip with a bunch of people, I just recommend a hotel going anywhere. Less hassle.

When this started it was a way for people to make some money when they were not using the property, to help defray fixed costs.

Now many view it as a for profit enterprise. But they don’t have the cost control a hotel does, which explains the guy that has to pay the cleaning lady $250,

I always shop on vrbo and airbnb then contact the management company directly to rent

Usually save several hundred that way

I’m using an AirBnB in Vancouver next month. It’s significantly cheaper than area hotels. And for whatever reason all the hotels up there seem mediocre.
The Fairmont Hotel Vancouver is not mediocre.

And at less than $400 per night it's not expensive.

That's me anyway.

$400 is expensive for a hotel, wtf

Especially when I'm getting an AirBnb with off-street parking for around $150 a night.

For real. Why am I paying a cleaning fee if I have to wash the dishes, take out the trash, and puts the clothes in the laundry?

Mainly it’s looking at a whole host of factors to try and determine are we close to a bottom out.
