I think its funny how we have 700 plus bases across the world, but China does business with Venezuela and MAGA pisses themselves.
Global competition is dog eat dog. There is only first place.

Even if you say what the US did was unjustified, there’s a clear difference here.
What is justified or what isn’t is subjective and irrelevant.
Judging by our previous forays into regime changes, this isn’t going to work out well in the long run.

Wish Trump would start this news conference so you assholes could get back on topic.
The political zealots need to stay on the politic board.
I'm interested to see if this was motivated by China and Iran's interest in arming up Maduro's regime. If there was, in fact, a shipment of drones and missiles that was destroyed, I would consider it a good thing. I am not a big fan of the narco-terrorism angle because our voracious consumption of drugs is what feeds that problem. It is akin to a drug user bitching about his pusher.
I think it would be in our interest to not have a puppet military of our enemies so close by.

I see what he did there.

Idk why we’re not transparent, to put it simply, we just seized their oil reserves and will now produce/export it

The good news is that, unlike Iraq and Afghanistan that only understand totalitarianism, Venezuela does at least have the mentality to comprehend the concept of democracy and republicanism. So odds are at least better here that a functioning government can emerge from all this.
Agree this is a reasonable expectation.
And one I hope comes to fruition.

Trump relying heavily on Rubio throughout and Rubio continues to be on point.
Rubio setting up for a run in 28 and if the party is smart they’ll make him the nominee and not the VP.

You seems smart.
Tell us who the “we is”.
International oil companies used to have a big presence there and the communist government kicked them out and stole their assets.Back then Venezuela was thriving.
The government ran the oil and gas infrastructure into shite.
Now the free market will start to come back and the country can start making real money again from their natural resources.

If Trump were wise he would shut the frick up and let Rubia handle all his speaking engagements.
90% of Trumps problems are self caused by his poor communication skills. Including this issue.

Wasn’t it Maduro that seized a Chevron refinery that was there and put it under govt. control?

Rubio is setting himself up to be Comandante of Cuba after he topples the Cuban government and convinces MAGA to do a grand Marshall plan to rebuild.

Yes. Nationalized all oil. Similar to Iran with how everything went down.

Yeah I have no idea why we are fighting at the moment.

Make Venezuela Great Again
Agree.
How is the question, the devil is in the details.
Except for Chile (CIA) and a few other small Latin American countries long ago, our modern track record on regime change has not been successful.
I'd be gladly happy to be proven wrong in this case.
