You obviously don’t know what this means and I’m sure your kind loved that they had a dictator that was a puppet of the communist dictators from around the world.
I know exactly what it means. And no, I did not like that they had a communist dictator who answered to other communists. Glad he was toppled. But we have no business running the country because they have oil. Venezuela needs to figure this out on their own.

I actually support this same action against mexico for flooding our country with their grunts, drugs and criminals.
However, it would take significantly longer to develop Mexicos oil reserves and Venny has plenty so thats prob the difference maker here…
I never understood how we just let mexico shite on the US like they have for decades

Why can’t you just admit you were wrong?

How fricking immature.

Which prior forays do you think this is comparable to?
On a 1 to 1? Probably Panama.
But since, Panama, we’ve failed at Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Egypt, Libya, and to an extent, Ukraine.

The crew that has been openly begging for the arrest or assassination of the duly elected president of the US is now crying about the sovereignty of a country who is currently celebrating their liberation from a dictator. Shocking development.
You people are nothing if not consistently inconsistent.

I mean, I’m a citizen of the United States who wants the corrupt leader of our country brought to justice.
Were Venezuelans dropping the bombs last night?
Weak arse red herring argument.

Have oil
You called it correctly, man!
In Trump’s address this morning he specifically cited oil production that Venezuela, has apparently nationalized…that’s a perfectly good reason as far as I am concerned.

That Fentanyl was the reasoning. He flat out lied.
So that’s a lie and you stated “lies”? I think you need to understand the difference between an opinion and a fact. You are no more in the know than anyone else on this board but spout off emphatically that what you say is factual. If you listened to the presser, drugs was just one of the reasons.

Meh. Fentanyl was the driver of this as far as public support is concerned. We have a brand new WMD to prove it. It was a lie in so much as Venezuela has practically zero involvement with fentanyl, and that is 100% stated as fact from Trump's own DEA. The fentanyl crisis, and the associated National Health Emergency, was used as an emotional tool of manipulation to garner support from the broken and gullible. It isn't a new playbook in the failed War on Drugs.

Posted this in another thread…
I will try to sum this up for some of yall…
I have worked with some Venezuelan folks in the oil industry and have a few friends from church who have family from there. The people overwhelmingly wanted this guy gone. He ran the country into the ground.
He has allowed Hamas, Iran, China, and Russia to set up operations in the country.
Venezuela stole billions of private oil company assets. They took over any private business and drove the owners out of the country.
Trump has given this guy several chances and then plenty of warning to step down.
The military build up and attacking drug boats was the strategy to continue to pressure the scum bag to step down and let the people there decide who there president will be. I don’t know or care what kind of drugs he was pushing, but he was into that and isn’t the money to fund evil.
As for oil, we aren’t going to go take it. We don’t need oil that bad. The plan will be to let private companies, both US and foreign owned, go back in and get back their assets and set up their operations like they used to have.

They’re still a sovereign state, dude (errr, were). The international order is based upon the respect of state sovereignty. Major powers can do all sorts of fricked up shite to topple governments but, since WWII, it’s been understood that invading a sovereign nation, especially unilaterally, is beyond the pale.
We don’t “invade”, we apprehended a fugitive criminal who’s been under federal indictment for 5 years. He just also happened to be a tin pot socialist dictator (probably why you’re defending him)who had usurped power and taken over a formally democratic country a plunged it into economic collapse and political repression.
quote:
And I would imagine you don’t give a frick about the international order…or at least you don’t as long as a republican is president. But you do understand we just greenlit other countries to do whatever the frick they want, right? Invade whomever they choose, right?
LMAO. Get a load of this shite stain pretending that his opposition to this move is any deeper than “orange man bad”, take your pearls that you’re clutching so tightly and shove them straight up your indoctrinated arse.

Aren’t you the wwii toy soldier guy? I would imagine you’re pretty familiar with happened the last time we went down this road.
And there it is. Can’t make any logical points so you resort to petty insults. You’re pathetic. A joke. And no one respects or takes you seriously. You’re nothing more than a meme, a shill for radical leftist opposition to the mean orange man bad. And the most pathetic part of it all, you’re too stupid to see it.

I disagree. I don’t think the admin was looking to garner public support for anything. Did they garner public support for the Iran bombing? No, they just did it because it served the best interest of the USA. Trump doesn’t speak in coded language. If you listen to him enough he openly says what he will do or is going to do. This followed those same lines of where they were given every opportunity to do what we asked and they didn’t so they got the stick.

Exactly, he couldn't do it if he tried. I never understood how democrats can't appreciate that. Guess they love being lied to.
