Good luck getting it ‘fixed’

My very first ticket was in Terrebonne Parish - doing 66 in a 50 between Thibodaux and Houma.

I showed up for court and the trooper was there also. I pled not guilty - and I was put in a holding cell until my roommate bailed me out.

Then it went back to court and I told my story - and it was dismissed and I got most of my bail money back too. Lol

Judge Arceneaux got in trouble for doing that years later - but since I served ‘time’ the ticket was never on my record or some shite like that.

In some parishes you can plead to a non-moving violation, like no seat belt, and pay the full fine that you would have paid for the speeding, and it won't go on your record because it is a non-moving violation. You still have to pay. Unless thee is something smelly in the courthouse, tickets don't get "fixed."

Go to court & hope the cop who issued the ticket does not show up. Burden of proof is on the police. Worked for me. Course, I had a State Trooper friend talk to the cop & ask him not to show up. The Assistant D.A. just looked at me when my case was called & shook his head & dismissed the case.

If you know people in the area, see if someone can get it fixed. If it is in a smaller town and the ticket was given by a deputy of that town, go talk to the mayor. Mayors from small towns love when people go to them asking to help with a ticket. You got to get them a little ego boost. I've had to go talk to a few mayors, but if its a state police your best bet it to go to court and plea your case, but if it is a state police its best to just go ahead and pay it.

you're so fricking stupid you act like you "know how it's done"
what you described would NEVER fricking work

it's amazing you act like such an expert on political matters and you could not be more wrong

watching TV shows about politicians does not make you an expert just like if you watched the 100-yard dash Olympic trials

Frik speed traps

I'll get downvoted I'm sure, but everytime I hear "speed trap", I immediately lable the person stupid.

What you're referring to is "entrapment" which is
quote:

a practice whereby a law enforcement agent or agent of the state induces a person to commit a "crime" that the person would have otherwise been unlikely or unwilling to commit.

Which is almost never the case in a speeding ticket.

The speed limit may drop down quickly (and for no apparent reason), but is always POSTED. The fact that you didn't see it or disregarded it doesn't make it entrapment.

Why post a thread on a speeding ticket if you won't say where you received it.

Where did you get the ticket? That makes a difference.

And who issued the ticket. For most small towns, you can just pay to have it changed to a non-moving violation. Corrupt af but I guess nobody cares because it's kind of a win-win.
